Festive friends.

Hi! Missed you guys! I am anything but put together this holiday season. Case and point: it took me three days to get this post together. Yikes! I'm drowning in work and holiday events + shopping but so are all of you, right? Right! Which means only one thing - it's time for a GNO!

NYC: Day 3

If you think this is a group that is okay disconnecting from devices; you'd be sorely mistaken. We were, indeed, those annoying chicks across the street snapping pictures...constantly. Ahhhh hey, you only live once. Speaking of - catch my Day 1 and Day 2 recaps!

NYC: Day 2

Day 2 of NYC. Slightly dehydrated but happy nonetheless! (Day 1 recap found here) We woke up on the later side of the morning, bed head included, and showered up for an iconic lunch at Bergdorf's. Oh the people watching! I've never seen so many tightly pulled, blonde women in one, central location. Hilarious.

Much to my surprise, lunch was positively fabulous. After I inhaled a crab sandwich and a cappuccino...I started to feel like myself again. And slightly more hydrated. Always a plus.

A Shopper's Uniform.

All right. Black Friday is around the corner. It's time to get serious. We all know the struggle. It's hot in the stores, cold outside and you're gonna get pushed around like a fat kid in a donut shop. What do you wear? I'll tell you...this outfit. It's ventilated and the jacket is not required.

PS / you need stretchy denim post turkey time. Let's be honest.

Midnight velvet.

I don't think of myself as a real sexpot. Quite the opposite. I think I've been described as "cute" in the past...in a Barbie sort of way but definitely not va-va-voom! I've been okay with that for years, by the way. But! Every once in a while it's probably a good idea that we stretch our comfort levels and do something out of the ordinary. Like wear lingerie during the daytime.

NYC: Day 1

This is the girls' trip that keeps on living. We've been texting each other and sharing photos since we returned...even planning a reunion of sorts. It was that good. So why not immortalize it forever? And that's just what I'm gonna do so get ready for a recap of sorts this week and the next but I promise you it won't be boring because these girls are anything but. That is for certain!

I am guessing that many of us feel disgruntled this morning. Myself included. We are so exhausted from the election yet we feel like someone robbed us in the middle of the night. How do you discuss with your kiddos? At least that's the question ruminating around my brain this morning. I'm kicking myself for even amping up the mere thought of a female president to them last night. You live and you learn.

Tuesday loves + go vote!

Today is going to be an interesting day isn't it? November has been a monumental month. First the Cubbies and now the potential of a woman leading our nation. Not sure what's next but I'm exhausted. How about you? Okay, that's an exaggeration. I'm just really exhausted from reading everyone's opinions on politics. All right already!

Let's talk about shopping instead. That's a neutral enough subject. How amazing is that blush coat? That's going on the Santa list for sure! The rest of my choices I observed whilst in NYC because you know you can always count on that city for fashion. And it was indeed juicy. Take a gander...

Savoring suede.

I just want to thank you all for being so patient with my blogging hiatus. I really needed a break. I know life went on for all of you but I am super hard on myself so bear with me. I needed a moment to get inspired and just breathe.

The real reason I was absent was because I went to NYC with four girlfriends to celebrate a big birthday. I don't go on many girls' trips but it was fantastic. I've been such a stress basket case lately and they reminded me (continuously) that I need to stop and just enjoy life. Amazing food, lotsa belly laughs and genuine, authentic girl talk. My cup runneth over. I've waited for girlfriends like this my whole life.
