Behind The Scenes: Blogger Fall Lookbook Shoot

I am nothing if not a huge supporter of small businesses. Turns out two of my friends started out with a small business which is now, a booming mecca of stylish jewelry, accessories and more recently, clothing. I couldn't be more proud of my two sister friends and all they've accomplished. I was honored that they requested my presence at their Fall look book photo shoot a couple weeks ago.

Introducing t+j Designs! If you aren't familiar with them yet - get familiar because I promise you will be hearing a lot more from them. They just entered into the clothing sector with chic skirts and graphic tees. I am simply swooning over their handbags, too. (P/S I must own this bag!)

Checkmate!

What a week! I was so relieved when Friday hit. Not only is it a welcome change to sift through my denim piles; it was also nice to mix up some layering pieces as well. Between a very FT job, one ear infection, one sore throat, a broken car handle and crappy sleep - this was about as creative as I could get.

Looking back in retrospect, there's nothing not to love about this outfit. It's still polished enough for a Friday but relaxed enough without looking sloppy. Like I always say people: stock pile enough neutrals in your closet for those brain dead days. Zero brain activity and still looking chic is a must when you're in a pinch.

5 handbags for your Fall wardrobe.

All right, we've covered off on the best trousers and tops for your Fall wardrobe. Now let's talk accessories! Handbags specifically. I often forget to change out my bags. I see my friends change out their bags with every new ensemble and I think to myself, "Why don't I pull out my leopard bag? I need to use my clutches."

And so I decided to share what's trending on both the runway as well as the retail world. Whatever you do, branch out from black. There is so much fun to be had this year!

101's Hidden Gems: Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique

Sometimes I wonder why I don't do things like weekly blow outs and makeovers more often. Then I remember it's because I have zero time to myself as I perch upon my bathroom vanity squeezing the life out of my used up eye cream...praying for an overnight miracle.

Truth is, we should do more for ourselves. If that means getting your nails done weekly or your makeup done professionally for a special date night - well darn it, I think you should do it. Women run around caring for their husbands, kids, neighbors, ailing parents and just about everyone under the sun including the mail man. Frankly, it's nice to have someone give you the VIP treatment.

Which brings me to my next topic. The VIP treatment is at Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique which also happens to be today's 101's Hidden Gem destination!

Wardrobe workhorse.

There are certain items in my closet that really serve as the workhorses in my wardrobe. In particular, I get a lot of mileage in the blouse department. Every season I pick out 5-10 new, affordable options that can be paired with both skirts or trousers because versatility is key in a corporate environment.

My husband works in a true corporate environment which is 100% traditional in every aspect of their dress code. I would never be able to get away with my current work ensembles however, I do class it up when I am meeting with big restaurant groups, etc. Looking the part is the half the battle in my opinion. (except for Friday's which always call for denim)

School munchkins.

I didn't have a post prepared for today. It's sitting in my camera. Instead, I chose to read books with Olivia and snuggle with her in bed last night. We were both tired and snuggling just seemed so much cozier vs logging onto my computer.

Turns out it was time well spent with my wiggle worm. My munchkins started preschool this month. They are growing at lightening speed it seems.

Jailbird.

You really snuck up on us didn't you, Fall? Little devil, you.

Just when I finally came around to florals - the temps dropped, the leaves started to fall off the trees and I started craving hot coffee as opposed to my usual iced. Shoot, it's dark out at 7:30 now!

Not that I'm complaining...I kinda jump for joy when I get to bust out Fall fashion.
