#MBFW Day 1 favorites + links
It's hard to summarize and capture 4 intense days of Fashion Week but I am going to do my best. I've received a few emails from readers asking for tips. Sounds like I need to do a post on the ABC's of planning your show schedule, how to RSVP and how to get into the shows when you're not on the list. Are we in agreement? Yes? Okay, cool.
Onward...
Jay Godfrey's presentation was one of the highlights of my trip. It was also the first presentation we saw that day. I was completely riveted by this sequin tuxedo suit. It was phenomenal. P.S. So was the model. #stunning
In other news, turns out Jay's daughter is quite the fashionista as well. She literally stole the show with her mini Louis Vuitton bag. Kid's got more street cred than me.
Desigual was one of the best runway shows I've witnessed. Adriana Lima kicked off the show in South American inspired prints and a sexy smile. The vibe was fantastic and the music even better. Did I mention she recently had a baby. Totally cool with that. I mean I was toothpick weeks later, too...said no one ever.
Ummm hi Olivia Palermo, Poppy Delevingne and Rosario Dawson. Hey girls! See you after the show, k? Perhaps it was then that I lost my favorite pair of sunglasses as I stood up to grab a few snaps. Major fashion fail on my part. Some 23 year old is walking around with a pair of Oliver Peoples sunglasses, dammit.
Janet and Jen were my blogger travel companions. We had a fabulous time. Truly some of the best fashion inspiration I have at my fingertips. I "heart" them big time. Moments like these that I realize how much I appreciate the relationships I've built all because of blogging. I would have never met them otherwise.
Mark and Estel was a solid show. Menswear to the core and it was so refreshing. I'll have you know that Spring is all about prints but more so BLACK and WHITE. You can bag the whole pastel floral thing next year. It ain't happening.
Straight up sexy here.
...and that's a wrap for Day 1. We were tired from traveling and in need of a good meal and copious amounts of alcohol. Luckily New York has both in abundance. Day 2 to come next week!
Happy Friday ladies!
