I want to thank each of you for sending positive vibes and prayers after reading yesterday's post. Yesterday was extremely difficult and today proves to be a continuation but I am in search of the small signs from our dog, Lucy. She is resting in heaven with all of our favorite loved ones and her suffering is no longer...which is ultimately the most important thing.

Still, I miss her greatly. The things that used to frustrate me...I now crave. It's funny how that works. Yet another reminder to never take anything for granted.

Happy Monday! I'm happy to report that it's warm, sunny and it looks like health has once again restored in our family. Thank baby Jesus!

I realize these photos see somewhat of a parody. Spring dress...snow on the ground. Eck, what can I say...when you're done, you're just done! Plus, when you find a cute flamingo dress; you wanna wear it!

Not quite yet...

The title of this post is very apropos. First we have a 50 degree Friday, next we have a 35 degree Sunday. Further reminding us that winter hasn't completely flown the coup quite yet. One last jolt to make you appreciate the beauty that is Spring.

I write this post with some tugging at the heart strings. Earlier this week my littlest had the stomach flu. Saturday I got body slammed by it crippling me to my bed for an entire day. Yesterday I boarded a plane for a business trip to Austin...that's just when I got the news that my husband and oldest daughter got body slammed by that very same stomach flu. So...here I am...in another state feeling helpless and all together worthless while 50% of my precious bunch is suffering.

Uggg...another reminder...winter is not over...not quite yet.

I changed into this sweatshirt for blog pics and very quickly realized that I forgot pants. #bloggerproblems, I realize. The closest item that resembled pants were these leggings...which are a wardrobe staple by anyone's standards right? Put them together and voila...100% Grease Lightening and completely unapologetic. Shocking right?

When I think of Valentine's Day, I think "amateur night." I'm sorry, I do. It's not that I'm getting old and cynical...it's just that everyone puts on this ridiculous facade to celebrate a Hallmark holiday. For my husband and I, it's not about over-the-top gifts but more so about undivided attention. A really nice meal with no distraction and really good cocktails. It's that simple.
