Wardrobe workhorse.

There are certain items in my closet that really serve as the workhorses in my wardrobe. In particular, I get a lot of mileage in the blouse department. Every season I pick out 5-10 new, affordable options that can be paired with both skirts or trousers because versatility is key in a corporate environment.

My husband works in a true corporate environment which is 100% traditional in every aspect of their dress code. I would never be able to get away with my current work ensembles however, I do class it up when I am meeting with big restaurant groups, etc. Looking the part is the half the battle in my opinion. (except for Friday's which always call for denim)

Just when I finally came around to florals - the temps dropped, the leaves started to fall off the trees and I started craving hot coffee as opposed to my usual iced. Shoot, it's dark out at 7:30 now!

Not that I'm complaining...I kinda jump for joy when I get to bust out Fall fashion.

Twirly girlie.

Some skirts are made for twirling. This is one of them. I suppose this is one of the last true summer outfits I will be sporting for awhile. Might as well go big or go home, right? (hence all the lime in this outfit)

Last time we talked about six trousers you need to acquire for Fall and today is all about five must-have blouses to pair with them! This season is all about the details - think embellishments and texture. The great news is there are so many amazing cuts and shapes...truly a blouse for every body type and the five I chose actually work for everyone.

While I love a graphic tee, truth is you need something for meetings and fancy dinners. Something sophisticated that can transform a simple pair of denim or trousers into a chic ensemble.

Splashy entrances.

Yesterday I shared 20 tips to get you through #MBFW. Today I am sharing what I wore, travel day included, and what necessities I pack for said activities. As a mom, I come prepared because nobody cares about your blister or your lost sunglasses. (still pissed I lost mine BUT I did bring two back ups so shit does happen for a reason) Obviously the accessory gods want me to update my eyewear. Challenge accepted.

Yep, I'm still wearing white.

Spoiler alert: it's still hot and I'm still wearing white. Some days you wake up and you just wanna wear white pants. And take the nautical theme to the extreme. So that's what I did. Come Thursday...it's a wardrobe of black only apropos of my setting; none other then the best city in the world - New York City.
