Splashy entrances.

Yesterday I shared 20 tips to get you through #MBFW. Today I am sharing what I wore, travel day included, and what necessities I pack for said activities. As a mom, I come prepared because nobody cares about your blister or your lost sunglasses. (still pissed I lost mine BUT I did bring two back ups so shit does happen for a reason) Obviously the accessory gods want me to update my eyewear. Challenge accepted.

Day 1 is always my most casual day. I get up for the earliest flight I can muster which means comfort and the ability to transition quickly are key. My skirt was my splashy piece while I kept the rest of my ensemble a little glam/a little tongue + cheek. That's the way I roll.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that this cross body bag is kind of a big deal. My search is over. It's the perfect bag to carry all my essentials for a long day of shows that pauses only for about 30 seconds before cocktail hour starts. Read: no time for freshening up.

I chose my jewelry carefully the night before. Color and more color is my motto, especially when paired with a graphic tee. And the skirt...well, you know I love scuba anything. Can we all say "no wrinkles" together?

Now I did wear leopard loafers on the plane and stashed these cage-y heels in my carry on. For the sake of all transparency, they hurt like a betch by 4pm. Something to do with 100% humidity, swollen cankles and standing all day. Miserable would be a word I would use to describe my current state in this last photo. But then again, that's what a hotel across the street is for! Nobody said fashion was easy.

Having all that said, here are a few items that will help you travel like a pro. Truth be told, I am pretty good at it:

• You never know when Aunt Bertha is going to pay a visit, pack these in your clutch. You're welcome.
• Zap oil with blotting papers that actually work. I love these.
• Inexpensive sunnies in case you lose yours. Not that that would happen.
• A comfy pair of loafers to switch into. Ahhhh.
• A bold piece to dress up the most casual of tshirts on travel days!
