Everyday.

Our weekend was good. Real good. I rested and spent real quality time with my little family. I'm looking forward to a slower week and more of the same. I'm also digging up all my elastic pants!

We kicked off the holiday season with the Mag Mile Lights Festival. I don't care if you have kids or not...this event is truly magical. The happiness is contagious and seeing thousands of people's faces light up at the sight of a float and holiday music makes this the best event Chicago has to offer. We've been going for four years now and I never tire of it.

Bejeweled holiday with ShopLately.

The holidays are nothing if not an excuse to get glam and up your bling game. It's a time for parties, events, indulging and...well...statement jewelry!

I had the pleasure of collaborating on a really fun project with my fellow Chicago bloggers and ShopLately. ShopLately is a market place, giving designers and brands the opportunity to showcase their products to a fashion-conscious group of women...like us! It's my go-to site for keeping up on accessory, apparel and jewelry trends.

5 party pumps for your holiday.

I shared my top five holiday dresses with you here. Today is all about your tootsies. I take shoe selection very seriously. To me, they can make or break an outfit. They are the proverbial icing on your sartorial cake. With the holidays approaching, I couldn't help but ogle a few more pairs that I'd like to add to my collection. (hello Loeffler Randall, I'm comin' for ya)

Seasonal shift.

I'll be honest. I look at this post and I look pretty beat up. I'm tired, friends. And while I do not want this to be a pity post, because life is so so good, this month was pretty gnarly. I can tell by the bags under my eyes.

I've been logging 80 hour work weeks with very little balance. I miss my kids, my husband and mindless activities like watching Top Chef. I see my family on almost the same schedule but the quality time has not been consistent. I've been distracted and consumed by work. I miss just not thinking. (sorry, my intention was for this post to be uplifting, not heavy)

Christmas plaid.

As a plaid lover extraordinaire, I must share my love affair with this shirt. It's so so soft that I wore it to bed Friday night. Yep, you read that correctly. It feels like it's been worn in and washed 100x's over making it my go-to closet grab as of late.

Weird? Yeah, I agree.

Never stop playing dress up.

Playing dress up is where it all began for me. My love for fashion. It's that sense of escape and the ability to transform into something extraordinary that made fashion so fun and exciting. Still does to this day. While I do not work in the industry; I have a huge appreciation for the creative process and today's designers. NYFW continues to be a thrilling experience to this day.

Sir Mix-A-Lot

For me to hang onto a piece of clothing for an entire decade, two things need to happen: A. I had to have splurged on the item because only that type of quality lasts over time and B. the item has to transcend all trends.

Such is the case for these bell bottom Citizen jeans. I bought them in 2004 at full price and I remember that being a big deal. I LOVED them and still do. In fact, I wore this outfit on a day of meetings and one of my clients complimented me on them. Kind of a big deal when your client happens to have founded a very well known denim brand. (note to self: always wear your client's denim to said client's office...slaps palm to forehead)
