After the rain.

We're prepping for a family vaca and I've been dying to break out this dress. Lunches alfresco, long naps, beach mornings and bike rides are what I'm looking forward to. It'll be the first time we take the girls on a plane since they were babies. Crazy right?

By the way, have any of you been to Hilton Head? We're first-timers. If you have must-see's or suggestions...I'd love to hear them!

101 Eats: Dinner @ Del Frisco's (+ a giveaway!)

Spring is arguably one of the best seasons to get out + about in Chicago. Everyone is in a cheerful mood and the patios begin to open. It's hard not to fall back in love with the Midwest after a long winter. Each year my husband and I reignite our love affair with Chicago and date nights in general. Such was the case for last Friday.

After a particular grueling day on the job, I shed my denim for something flirty and met my husband at Del Frisco's Chicago. Hopping out of the cab, I raced up the grandiose escalator to meet him for a quick glass of bubbles and a catch-up of the day before we sat down to a buzzing dining room of foodies and steak aficionados. Bows + toes.

The start of many awesome weekends for the books. Sun makes all the difference, you know?

We kicked off the weekend with a date night that extended over to Saturday morning -- thank you grandparents! From there it was errand running, homemade pizzas, wine, friends and naps. Yesterday I shot a fun little feature at home...more on that later, though.

With that said, this post is really for my husband. You see, three days ago he asked me what I wanted for my birthday...a very loaded question. (both Olivia and I have birthdays in May and we've got Mother's Day - I quite like this month very much!) Every style blogger has a mile-long wish list. It comes with the job. And we all know I aim to please, right?

My life in one bag.

They say that motherhood is about finding a balance. My view on motherhood is that of wind sprints. One minute your running at high paced speeds to make it all work. The next minute you get 60 seconds of rest before the next sprint kicks in.

Once you give in and let go, the sprints become part of your routine and it isn't so jarring. And the older your children get...the longer the rest periods, I find.

That being said, I need a workhorse bag to keep all our snacks, extra pairs of underwear + leggings, chapstick, wallet, hand sanitizer and the like straight. Oh! And don't forget the Elsa doll and her three pairs of tiny, miniature shoes. Yeah, those are awesome.
