101 Eats: Dinner @ Del Frisco's (+ a giveaway!)

Spring is arguably one of the best seasons to get out + about in Chicago. Everyone is in a cheerful mood and the patios begin to open. It's hard not to fall back in love with the Midwest after a long winter. Each year my husband and I reignite our love affair with Chicago and date nights in general. Such was the case for last Friday.

After a particular grueling day on the job, I shed my denim for something flirty and met my husband at Del Frisco's Chicago. Hopping out of the cab, I raced up the grandiose escalator to meet him for a quick glass of bubbles and a catch-up of the day before we sat down to a buzzing dining room of foodies and steak aficionados. (we were in good company!)

When we splurge, we splurge. The first item on the agenda was a dozen of the freshest, briniest oysters to hit our palette accompanied by a glass of prosecco. Never a better pair were made.

The service was impeccable. It's hard for me to say that regularly when it comes to dining out. I love an enthusiastic server who can educate us about the menu or wine pairings without coming on too strong. Big points to a server who can space out a meal rather than rushing us into the next course.

After all, wine is meant to be enjoyed...and that it was. We chose a Failla Pinot Noir after falling in love with the winery last July during our trip. A rarity to find in Chicago, too!

The wine tower (pictured above) is outstanding. I've never seen that large a collection in our city.  Some collections had 12 different varietals listed on their menu! The charming GM even offered us a tour - who doesn't love a hands on approach? Which leads me to my next topic...

Del Frisco's would make for an amazing location for just about any event you're planning. Copious space, scenic views of Oak Street (my favorite, wink wink) and knowledgeable staff to ensure you and your guests are offered every convenience.

A night out on the town is a treat for any parent. Our night at Del Frisco's Chicago was exceptional. If you want to be treated like royalty and indulge in classic steakhouse favorites with a contemporary flair - this is your destination.
