On doing it all...and other blogging tips.

After blogging for five years, I can tell you not every day is creatively fueled or inspiring. There are many-a-day that I have no idea what to write about or I don't feel like taking photos. It's hard to come up with original content consistently. Still, after all this time, I never once thought about quitting a hobby that I love so much.

I've heard this before however in the last week, I've had two girlfriends ask me how I do it all? By "all" they are referring to two full-time jobs, being a mother, a somewhat decent wife and blogging.

Favorite fall treats to share with friends.

One of my favorite things about our weekends is the spontaneity of seeing close friends at a moment's notice. Too often we strategize these intricate get-togethers only to have the best laid plans fall through.

In fact, my favorite memories often include a random text followed by my door bell ringing twenty minutes later. For cozy moments like these, I retreat to sweet treats and Starbucks® flavored K-Cup® Packs.

Standby.

Did you know it's summer again in Chicago? Yup. 78 degrees. Not that I am complaining but it really spins my fashion mojo out of control. Just when I slip on my plaid coat, we get pink skies and sunshine.

That's when you need the ol' standby to get you through the days when your fashion brain is stumped. This is my standby.

Barbie.

I don't make it a habit to dress like Barbie often. I made an exception for this matching set because it really spoke to me. 5 blazers to transition you into layer weather.

Blazers can be boring. This I know. Especially on the corporate level.

The blazer world has really evolved in the last two years. Now they serve as layering pieces for even the most casual look. I wear my blazers frequently with distressed denim, dresses...even cutoffs.

Cozy.

I've always wanted a plaid coat. I had my eye on one last season but never pulled the trigger. After I saw this one...it was game on. It goes with everything. I feel like I should attend a college football game or something. Perfect for the pumpkin patch, might I add.

Morning rituals.

I take my mornings very seriously. And because I am NOT a morning person...you better not mess with my rituals which include, but are not limited to, coffee, coffee, coffee and a delicious pastry. Oh and a small sliver of "me" time which keeps mommy ever-so-patient when rallying the troops for school, ballet and the assorted play date.

Budget Babe: 10 under $50

Hello pretties! Can you believe all the sales happening around us? It's enough to spin this girl dizzy but I held back which means some of you need to spend your pennies on these gorgeous goods and satisfy my shopping itch. Heavy doses of noir and plaid fill my wish list!

Peachy keen.

Peach and red are probably the most underrated color combo. I've decided...unofficially. And leopard just works with this duo might I add.

We've been experiencing some picture perfect Fall weather. The colors have been exploding all over our neighborhood. Fall truly is the best in the Midwest and it's so fleeting. We are trying to soak up every Fall activity you can think of including but not limited to pumpkin patches, fests, parties...the list goes on.
