5 blazers to transition you into layer weather.
Blazers can be boring. This I know. Especially on the corporate level.
The blazer world has really evolved in the last two years. Now they serve as layering pieces for even the most casual look. I wear my blazers frequently with distressed denim, dresses...even cutoffs.
Today I'm sharing five blazers that will pull together your entire closet. Different cuts, draping, pockets, hues and textures. When shopping for blazers, I literally run through every outfit I could potentially create with said purchase. Determining how much mileage I can get from a fancy purchase almost justifies it with my husband...almost!
one | alice + olivia: the classic cream blazer. I wear my cream blazer more than my black. It's a great solution on cooler summer nights paired with sundresses and oh-so-chic in the winter with white denim and black booties. It's unexpected and that's always a good thing.
two | tibi: the textured blazer. I love this feathered option. It looks super sexy with a mini skirt or dress. Truly a statement maker. For a casual Friday, throw it on with some skinny denim and you're anything but too casual. And yes, you should totally wear this to work!
three | james jeans: the classic black blazer. This is a great "change it up" option. The leather lapel adds a point of interest and would look amazing with a leather pencil skirt. The cut is ultra flattering as it hits right above the hip bones. Make sure all your blazers hit at this point. If they're too long you'll look like you're wearing your husband's sport coat. Not a good look and we know what ill fitting clothing does for our frames!
four | BCBGMAXAZRIA: the cropped blazer. Always have a blazer in a fun a color or print. I love this peachy version because it still serves as a neutral. If you're wearing a vibrant printed trouser, it still allows your bottom half to be center stage. The wide lapels are a fun detail, too!
five | Sachin & Babi: the cascade blazer. At first I was resistant to this style because I had seen so many moms pairing these with yoga pants which makes my skin crawl. Paired with the right trouser or short, the cascade blazer has new life. I love that SHOPBOP paired it with leather Bermuda's. Again, unexpected. Whatever you do, make sure to balance the volume of this blazer with something fitted on your bottom half or else you'll look too bulky.
Happy shopping! xo
