Wedding season!

I'm staring at my bulletin board at a collage of shower and wedding invites as I write this. It's officially wedding season and there's just one question that resurfaces every year.

What am I going to wear?

It's silly really because I have a closet of dresses but truly, most are casual. Many of my formal occasion dresses fit differently since having kiddos or I've just worn them too many times to give them another go-around. In fact, I've been listing many of them on my Poshmark account!

In the spirit of Spring kicking off last week, I decided to craft a post around rompers. Yes, rompers. While not the most ideal situation for frequent trips to the bathroom; you can't beat the ease of a one-piece outfit that exudes warm weather with a hint of "dressy" without really trying. It's the ultimate closet no-brainer.

About this. Truth...these photos were taken about four weeks ago. Second truth...I saw flurries again yesterday. So...waste not, want not. The colors are Spring-y, no?

So about that Spring...ummm, I really am excited. I swear. It's just this dress. I had to break it out. Sure, it looks like a basic black dress but really, it's all about the details. The subtle draping, the inverted hem, the perfect jersey material. It's the black dress I've been waiting for my whole life.

Budget Babe: 12 under $50!

I'm so excited to switch out my wardrobe and move in a different direction. I'm still on a neutral kick, which, I'm enjoying because I know brights are around the corner!

The last Budget Babe we shopped was back in February and what a difference a month makes! Ditch the jackets, sequins and buffalo check for a fresher outlook! As always, I vow to find trendy, sophisticated pieces that won't break your piggy bank - always under $50!

So clean, so fresh.

This weekend brought a smile to my face. Warm temps, windblown hair and plenty of fresh air. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day, too which is kind of funny considering we are not Irish. As my husband said, "If you live in Chicago, everyone is Irish this weekend."

And we all know a Sunday well spent brings a week of content!

Waffled.

I really love dresses. I also happen to have a fondness for the color red. Pair those two together and you have my new favorite dress. The waffle texture makes for a fun detail on an otherwise semi-ordinary dress. It was love at first site.

Who doesn't love a kicky skirt, right? The minute I slid it on, I knew it was coming home with me.
