This time of year always evokes a sense of calm in me. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the cooler breeze, the change in the leaves...it's my happy place. I think it has a lot to do with the giant closet purge I do, too (major Labor Day sale in my Poshmark closet, btw). Let's face it...September is my sartorial New Year. Dump the unwanted summer gear and start with a clean slate for Fall. I LOVE the sound of that!
Read MoreIt's no secret that outside of the December holidays, Labor Day sales are some of THE best! 40-50% at some of my favorite stores...well, I believe in sharing the wealth. Shop on my soul sisters, shop on!
Read MoreEveryday I wake up and decide what I am going to wear based on my mood. My sartorial taste is like a box of chocolate...you never know what you're gonna get. And maybe there's a small part of me that likes to keep them guessing. True to my Gemini attributes, I get bored easily and I'm a constant chameleon.
My husband and I always joke around because I am the exact opposite of his taste in women's fashion. I was reminded of this on Saturday when we rented The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton and Leslie Mann. He la-la-loves Leslie Mann and truthfully, I don't blame him. Especially her "look" in this film. It was very Conneticut-meets-Tory Burch-with a spoonful of Trina Turk-meets-Diane Von Furstenberg. He just loves that East Coast look. I couldn't be more opposite. I mean, for one, I do not own a wrap dress...so, there's that.

I always say I'm all set in the LBD department but turns out I was wrong. I love the laser cut and the pointy shoulders. Truly, the 80's was my decade. Except when I was feeling my inner hippie last week.
Read MoreShocking as you may find this...I am not a model by any means. I know. I know. You'd never know I am a suburban mom. Believe me, I fool many-a-people. But in all seriousness, if you can't have a laugh at yourself than who can you laugh at?
I present you the first of, what I can only assume, many fashion blooper posts. These are the photos that get trashed immediately for reasons...well...it's pretty obvious. See below.
Read MoreIt's September. You can deny it all you want but the truth of the matter is that summer is over and you need to start prepping your wardrobe for cooler temps and pumpkin lattes. I say this tongue and cheek because I was just at an event last night joking with another blogger how cliche it is when we all post our first pumpkin spice latte on Instagram. Totes original...said no one ever! And, guilty as charged.
Read MoreThis is my second midi skirt and I must say, it's my favorite. I've learned that not all midi skirts are created equal. With a 5'2 frame, often times it looks like skirts are eating me alive. If you're vertically challenged like myself here's my tip: find one that hits right at the bottom of your knee. It's all about elongating your legs...am I right, girls?

I knew how I was going to style this dress the moment I saw it. It's so very Penny Lane and I cannot wait to throw on a fur vest when the weather turns a little cooler. It's a little out of my typical, pencil-skirt-wearing-wheelhouse but truly, this is my comfort zone.
Read MoreBeing a heels girl, I only whip out flats when absolutely necessary. That said, there are times when heels just won't fit the bill including running after my children and during a day of travel. As NYFW approaches, I'm mentally packing and editing everyday. And, if you know anything about Fashion Week, you know that every fashionable gal needs a pair of chic flats for those long walks as you sweat profusely trying to hail the same taxi that 30 other fashionistas are trying to wave at furiously. Yeah, that means those cab to curb heels need to find a comfy spot in your tote or else you better bring a first aid kit!
