I can't seem to kick the habit of wearing red plaid. This is the most enthusiastic I've ever been about plaid in general. Perhaps it's because the Midwest is so darn gray these days!
Recently, I was turned onto Maude from a fellow blogger and fell in love with...well, all their inventory! Especially this sweater. It's the coziest and puts a smile on my face which is worth something in the dead of winter!

As someone who experienced teen angst in the 90's; I am fully embracing the trend of worn-in denim and plaid as an homage to my youth. Ironically, we've been introducing the girls to a lot of Pearl Jam and Nirvana in the house recently.

Last week I got to go on not one but two date nights with my husband. I took the entire week off! It was just what the doctor ordered. Uninterrupted conversation, some good food and lots of laughs. Parents needs this once in awhile.

This year we hosted Christmas. Our house was filled with homemade smells that I just adore. It's my favorite part of hosting a dinner party.
One thing I've learned over the years is the importance of being comfortable when you are whipping up appetizers, shuttling dishes and pouring wine for your guests. I always opt for a dress in these situations. Movement is key as well as having room to grow.
I'm still in a fog from all the calories I consumed!
