Hostess.

This year we hosted Christmas. Our house was filled with homemade smells that I just adore. It's my favorite part of hosting a dinner party.

One thing I've learned over the years is the importance of being comfortable when you are whipping up appetizers, shuttling dishes and pouring wine for your guests. I always opt for a dress in these situations. Movement is key as well as having room to grow.

I'm still in a fog from all the calories I consumed!

Generally speaking, the heels come off around course three. It all starts out great but let's face it...platters and heels don't necessarily mix. 

I fell in love with this dress for the built-in jeweled neckline and for the vibrant colors. Seemed very holiday to me. And since we've officially entered "tights season" it seemed like the obvious choice for Christmas Eve.

Finally, this faux fur clinched the entire look. I've been in the market for one. While grabbing some last minute gifts I was able to snag this one at 30% off. Pretty much a no-brainer considering every girl needs a little fur in her life.
