Coralish.

The thing about rain is that while it sucks after days of it; it does some pretty rad things for the local greenery. The only thing that has been "enhanced" in these photos is my aging complexion! Ha!

I was shopping for Mother's Day last week when I ran into a friend at the mall. We made a pitstop in Zara when she spotted this top. Normally I would walk right by it. Not sure why but it's true. She convinced me that it would be so great for vacation, etc and minutes later I was at the check out. Well, thank goodness for friends with good sartorial sense because I now adore this top!

Tuesday loves.

I'm gearing up for our annual vacation next week and feeling all things summer. Bring on the frilly tops, distressed shorts and lace up anything. It's all I can do this week to get through my work as I await the first sip of a pina colada. My vacation weakness; why do they have to be so bad for you? It's a cruel joke during bikini season...don't you agree?

Derby style.

When your friend asks you to participate in a Derby shoot and your only requirement is to find a fancy dress and a big floppy hat...you oblige. It gets better. Mother’s Day has always brought everyone together to celebrate two very special women: my mother and my grandmother. It was our ritual to dine at a local, french bistro on decadent eggs benedict with copious amounts of mimosas. We all knew the couch and sweat pants were awaiting at home!

Every summer I shove the ladylike pencil skirts and heels to the back of my closet bringing forward the gauzy, lace tops, ripped denim and FLATS. My feet rejoice at this because the other 9 months of the year I'm romping around the city in stilettos.

Delicate.

It's the shortest season but the best season...cherry blossom and magnolia season. I love when they bloom and I love when the petals fall softly to the ground framing the sidewalks. Budding trees make the long winters worthwhile.

Starry night.

It was jumpsuit season..."was" being the operative word. Yesterday Monday - summer. Tuesday - winter. I surrender! But the glimpse of warmer weather and the idea of wearing a jumpsuit sure was fun. And this jumpsuit...you guys, it's under $15. Everyone should be pulling out their wallets right now because it's that good!

As my birthday and summer approaches, I couldn't resist perusing some of my favorite shopping sites. As I sat and bookmarked different items, I couldn't help but think...wow, it's been a long time since I went shopping! Like...approximately one year! I used to be a tried and true shopper but it appears family and work has me preoccupied these day. Such is life!
