Bohemian Backyard Bash
When I get inspired to do something, I am driven to make it happen come hell or high water. It’s my best personality trait and my worst all at once. Ask my husband!
I started poking around this weekend looking at all the outdoor sales and that led me down a slippery slope. Slippery as in I now want to host a bohemian backyard party so that’s just what I did at 10:30pm last night. The evite has been sent out and now I’m all about making this theme come to life. I told you…there’s no stopping me once I get started! It all started with the swinging, egg chair I bought on major clearance at the Pier 1 final sale. Run, don’t walk!
This is such a great time to scoop up outdoor furniture and decor. My palette consists of whites, creams, taupes and vintage blues. I want it to feel cozy and comfortable. I plan to drag my bar cart outside to set up a make-shift spirits and vino station. The menu will be simple because I know how ladies prefer to eat. I plan to serve mediterranean apps and small bites. No big, heavy meal but something the ladies can stand or sit and nosh easily. Think fresh veggies, seafood, dips, side salads and cheeses.
The great thing abut all these pieces is not only the price tag but that the aesthetic is classic enough for me to use and reuse over the years. My tables are simple folding tables that I dress up with long table cloths and linens. No one ever knows. I love this set!
The final piece will be my LED lanterns and an abundance of fresh florals that I will arrange as the centerpiece down the length of the table to mirror the above image. I usually hit up Trader Joe’s and buy several bunches of eucalyptus and ranunculus to add some texture to the table.
Last but not least, I’ve instructed my guests to don their favorite breezy sundresses for two reasons: 1. We are all looking for a reason to dress up and 2. this is a theme party! I think it will make for the cutest pictures and let’s be honest, it’s the end of July so we have no idea how hot it will be.
I am so excited! All my favorite pieces are linkable and shoppable. I hope this inspires you to stay home, be safe and make the most of your own space as continue to practice social distancing. Dinner under the stars sounds like the perfect evening to me!
Tonight marks the first full moon of September on the cusp of Autumn equinox. Fitting isn’t it? In fact, they call it a harvest moon. Naturally I took all the preparation this weekend by decorating the house for none other than, HALLOWEEN! This also led me down a dark dark rabbit hole, which usually involves some cyber shopping. As a result, today I bring you 10 of the best black and white halloween decorating ideas!
