My cozy corner.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know that we have hit completion with a couple of home projects. What a relief! Raising two girls has definitely given me the patience required to endure construction commingled with a pandemic. I definitely had my days though!
One of the smaller projects (but with maximum impact) was to develop this little corner of our family room. Previously it housed a vintage, beaten up chest of drawers and some family picture frames. The chest of drawers did not match the space at all and after eight very long years, I gave it the boot! As you are already aware, my love for MacKenzie-Childs runs deep. So deep that we explored seating options because their current, muted palettes were meant to co-mingle with our cozy room.
Meet the Giulietta Accent Chair. She’s all personality with her muted terra-cotta palette and houndstooth pattern play. She’s comfy and just perfect for moms who need the occasional coffee break or a place to curl up and read. She also has a matching throw which is ideal considering Illinois has not received the memo that summer is about to start. We finished her ensemble with the matching terra-cotta Fiore Pillow which ties the whole design element together. This pillow is also a great pop of texture and whimsy which is one of the strongest pillars of the MacKenzie-Childs brand.
Olivia has also created a set of rules called the three D’s:
No sweaty DADS
No dirty DOGS
No kiddo DRINKS
…are allowed on this chair!
The result has been such a positive addition to this room that it finally feels finished after all these years. Simply accessorize with candles and a pouf/foot stool and you have yourself the perfect situation for a rainy day. The only thing this chair does not come with is a barista to refill my coffee mug. Baby steps!

It’s time to come out of hibernation. While January has been cold and gray, I’ve uncovered an amazing, suburban exhibition that is worth leaving the house for…and it’s only here through the end of March 2024. You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
