Dining Room Makeover

We inherited my parents French, dining room table when we bought the house and it’s one of my favorite pieces. The natural wood and curvature fit perfectly into our formal dining room despite being over 20 years old. They don’t make furniture like this any longer. Along with it, we inherited the formal dining chairs which we repaired and reupholstered as well.

Now having lived in our home for nearly nine years, we’ve come to the realization that the chairs need to be replaced. Beautiful to the eye, the spines are weak and cracking. Sure, we could repair them again but truly, they are just getting so old that it would be like flushing money down the toilet.

Fast forward to 4:20am this morning, I set out to give our dining room a bit of a makeover. Frankly, I am quite pleased with the outcome. Our dining room has more of a glam vibe vs the modern farmhouse vibes found throughout the rest of our first floor. The dining room table is pretty close to what we currently own, which made it easy to get more visual with the rest of the pieces I chose. We have cane backing on our current chairs and I wanted to keep that detail in our next set if at all possible. The mix of textures and metallics make this room super chic and light.

Best news ever…every single piece is linked in today’s post! I love mixing metallics and styles. This was a great exercise to envision the final outcome. Now I just need to convince my husband to pull the trigger on those gorgeous chairs! Happy shopping! xo
