Our Master Bedroom Remodel: Part II
I’ve recapped our bathroom remodel but what about the bedroom? That got a mini-facelift, too! If you’ve been following me for awhile you know that our master bedroom held so much light and was beyond spacious, however, we weren’t fully utilizing the space in a way that made sense. We also had the most awful, baby blue carpet. It was the ultimate thorn in my side every time I walked into the room. Old, beat up and stained from dogs and kids. Yuck!
Fast forward to our finished product and we couldn’t be more delighted. Our team <linked below> ripped out the carpeting and laid down wide plank, blonde wood floors. We centered our bed on this oriental rug for a spot of color since the far majority of the room is white or gray. All of the furniture was kept because it still reflected our style and color palette. There are many versions of our headboard but this is the original version here. Our greige bedroom set is one that I still love and doesn’t compete with the rest of the room so it stayed, too. For a pop of color, we bought this tufted ottoman for our sitting chair which gets a ton of use from tying laces to taking conference calls. The final accent piece was our marble side table flanking our sitting chair. I alternate fresh flowers or pictures for a pop of decor. It’s the perfect size, too! All of these pieces can be linked below and were carried over from our room previously.
Add a final coat of fresh paint, freshly painted trim and you have a mini makeover that feels like a million bucks. My window treatments were custom by Calico Corners and we kept those. My standing mirror was purchased for $120 at Home Goods. There’s always a gem hiding in the back; it just takes some looking.
Dare I say I sleep better in our new calm space? I think so. Proof that so much of how we feel is in our minds but a modest makeover made our sleep space feel clean, fresh, luxe and new. Let’s be honest, good sleep is imperative this year more than any other year and I am grateful that we had the opportunity and the team to direct us in taking on some small changes that made a large impact on how we start the day.
Next up…the mega closet makeover. You’ll want to stick around for this one. It’s the finale!

We inherited my parents French, dining room table when we bought the house and it’s one of my favorite pieces. The natural wood and curvature fit perfectly into our formal dining room despite being over 20 years old. They don’t make furniture like this any longer. Along with it, we inherited the formal dining chairs which we repaired and reupholstered as well.
