Happy Halloween!

Morning friends! Ironic that just yesterday I wrong about "doing it all" and today's post is just now going live. Oy. #bloggerproblems.

Today I'm sharing a few snaps from our backyard Halloween party last weekend. We invited all of our friends, kids or sans kids, to soak up the 70 degree weather and basically...eat a lot of crap food. Pretty much a perfect day for me but we'll table my junk food addictions for another day.

Enjoy and Happy Halloween to you! Be Safe!

On doing it all...and other blogging tips.

After blogging for five years, I can tell you not every day is creatively fueled or inspiring. There are many-a-day that I have no idea what to write about or I don't feel like taking photos. It's hard to come up with original content consistently. Still, after all this time, I never once thought about quitting a hobby that I love so much.

I've heard this before however in the last week, I've had two girlfriends ask me how I do it all? By "all" they are referring to two full-time jobs, being a mother, a somewhat decent wife and blogging.

Favorite fall treats to share with friends.

One of my favorite things about our weekends is the spontaneity of seeing close friends at a moment's notice. Too often we strategize these intricate get-togethers only to have the best laid plans fall through.

In fact, my favorite memories often include a random text followed by my door bell ringing twenty minutes later. For cozy moments like these, I retreat to sweet treats and Starbucks® flavored K-Cup® Packs.

Buy Fair. Be Fair.

Did you know that October is Fair Trade Month? Yup, it's quickly becoming one of the top causes on my philanthropy list. October is a month to celebrate the farmers and workers who produce the products we indulge in everyday -- that sweet treat, that cup of coffee -- all of it benefits diverse communities all over the world.

I was sent the "Box Full of Hope" package to help spread the word about fair trade and spread the word I shall!

On content and change...

I've had multiple conversations as of late regarding my blog rebrand and content shift. Seems only fitting I discuss the reasons why I focus more on fashion and less on family these days. Maybe you're not one to notice or care all that much but it's been weighing on my brain and let's face it...there's only so much that fits up there these days!

It all started with a conversation I had with a local blogger momma about featuring our kiddos. Since then it's been reinforced by a couple other moms I respect and some of my peers in the industry. Let's just say this was an "aha" moment for me.

Apple Rings.

I know my strengths and I know my weaknesses. One of my weaknesses is a lack of desire to cook if I've had a rotten day. Hence my want to craft something in the kitchen lies solely on the day I'm having and the time I can allot to trying out a new recipe. When I feel rushed, I get flustered and let's just say that's not good for anyone.

I'll keep this short and sweet.  Because that's what this recipe is. Barely any prep and delicious results. Truth is, Fall always coaxes me back into the kitchen because there's nothing cozier than a homemade batch of chili, the smell of a crockpot or the delicious aroma of apples and cinnamon.

Consider this a Pinterest "win" because that's where I stole it from! I feel like I should write this woman a letter on how clever she is. (thank you if catch wind of this post, Katerina!)
