Cold shoulder.

Now that felt like summer! And just as I was about to give Mother Nature the cold shoulder. (see what I did there?) 

Chicago was hot and stormy but the sun peeked through so that my husband and I could celebrate our 5 year anni. Thank you weather gods!

I've been dying to break out this off-the-shoulder dress. I love seeing this trend back in the stores and this is my first adaptation of it. It should be known that this was one of the most comfortable dresses I own. You can ask my husband because I yammered on about it. 

The adjustable spaghetti straps prevented me from tugging at it all night long which is not so classy. There's nothing worse than seeing a lady tug at her undergarments!

Shortly after these shots we boarded a dinner cruise and sipped champagne cocktails hence my marvel at such a fabulous weekend.

While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

…and just to prove how extra I can be, I paired this ensemble with a houndstooth tote. A bit much? Perhaps. My coat is on super sale so grab it now! I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern. I will never tire of houndstooth. This is a print for all generations.
