Okay friends, we know Fall is peeking around the corner and while I think it’s safe to say that none of us are ready to discontinue pool days…the reality is that we have no choice! I am officially embracing a new season. And it’s likely due to my kids starting school this week.

If there is anything that I reach for continuously and also spend my hard-earned dollars on; it’s always basics. Nude, brown, black, white and gray pieces that can be mixed and matched whether I am dressing in the dark in the early wee hours OR packing for a quick getaway.

I don’t go bananas on Black Friday. I kind of graze all weekend because let’s be honest, the sales last for quite some time despite the Cyber Week sense of urgency. With that said, there is one sale I never miss and that’s the Zara Black Friday sale. It’s my favorite. Zara is my quintessential stop for basics. I always get compliments on outerwear, denim and shoes. Always. And I keep those pieces forever. Affordable, minimal and contemporary. I don’t care if you’ve never shopped here before, this is the year to change that.

Yes, you guessed it…we celebrated our anni with our little ladies and while romance was not exactly on the menu, I can tell you that we had a great time exploring Milwaukee on a much different level that had everything and anything to do with our kids ages.
