What I wore in January + February...
Hi! Long time, no write. I was in a bit of a writing funk while simultaneously managing a heavy workload and well…you know the rest of the story! And while this is clearly not 60 days worth of outfits, I can tell you that these looks ranked the most popular in both affiliate sales and feedback. It only made sense to share the favorites of what I wore in January + February.
The above look is doable for everyone. It’s not about the labels on the clothes but more so about creating monochromatic looks in a cinch by simply picking a color palette to adhere to. Turns out that I love an all white or an all black look. And honestly, so should you! It’s the easiest outfit to put together and we all have these pieces in our closets. It’s the quickest way to elevate your basics IMO. In my many trips around the sun, I can tell you that I am a late bloomer to basics but better late than never! Monochromatic is chic and always in style.
It’s always the most ordinary outfits that receive the most feedback for me. This look was another monochromatic version but this time with all earth tones. Every single piece can be found in my Amazon storefront linked below EXCEPT my turtle neck. This is my “I didn’t wash my hair but need to run errands and look put together look” which, coincidentally, fell on a snowstorm day. I reach for these pieces weekly. You won’t be sorry!

This is my favorite look out of the entire line up and honestly, I think it starts and ends with my fuchsia beanie. I get more compliments on this dang thing! Also found in my Amazon storefront. The wide leg pants are a must because they can be styled year round and my vegan, faux leather jacket was a gift from my momma. It’s just a fun, whimsical look! Again, closet staples…are we seeing a pattern here?!

Okay, this look may not be for everyone but I truly love it. This sweater is NOT a staple but the faux joggers are for sure! Best faux joggers out there and the reason being is that you don’t sweat in them. I don’t know what they are lined with but I’ve worn them with both heels and sneakers. Cannot recommend them enough!
My sweater is sold out but the pop of color gives me life on a grey day and hello, it is February in Chicago so color it, is. It’s a little reminiscent of the Louis Vuitton check print, don’t you think?
If you know anything about me, you know I am a houndstooth fanatic. I have totes, coats, trousers, shoes and now dresses. My dress is a knit but I’ve linked some really fun versions above. I paired this dress with a leather moto, my Gucci pattern tights and a pair of suede, pointy stilettos. This is a great event outfit. I wore this to a Broadway show with Olivia. I even linked some wide belts for you because mine is nearly a decade old. (see! some things never go out of style!)
Last but not least, the Amazon sweater that sold out on Instagram. Five of my friends bought it from my IG stories alone. Comes in a trillion colors, under $60 and is super high quality. The knit is uber soft and would be cute with denim or even a mini. Fits TTS, too! I wore this on a family dinner in Lake Geneva with faux, leather jeans. It has really high reviews so grab it while it’s restocked!

That’s a wrap for the first two months of 2022. What’s inspiring your wardrobe these days?
It’s time to come out of hibernation. While January has been cold and gray, I’ve uncovered an amazing, suburban exhibition that is worth leaving the house for…and it’s only here through the end of March 2024. You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
