Last call...

The evening light is changing and there's a different scent to the air. I smell Fall. Last call for Summer.

I can now say that I'm excited for Fall. But one last dance in this FABULOUS pom/tassel dress. I swoon for casual dresses like this. As you know, color makes me happy. 

My little munchkin trotted into her first full day of kindergarten today. I was so proud of her. She was all smiles and bravery and I was...a little choked up but I quickly hid it because I want her to be fearless at her new school. I love the excitement of new school supplies and back packs and fresh notebooks. Always have. 

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited for pick up today. I'm dying to know what she thinks of hot lunch. I've always hated hot lunch so the jury is out as to whether or not I will be scrambling to make turkey sandwiches in the near future. (you can't even make PB&J's anymore because of allergies - bummer!)

This Summer was a great one. I feel like I savored many moments but it's time to turn the AC off, throw open the windows and get settled for a cozy Fall...after I wear this dress a few more times. Ha!

Spring is a time for new beginnings. And there are so many in comparison to last year’s Spring. While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

…and just to prove how extra I can be, I paired this ensemble with a houndstooth tote. A bit much? Perhaps. My coat is on super sale so grab it now! I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern. I will never tire of houndstooth. This is a print for all generations.
