Tribal trim.
Well...Monday we meet again. I spent the better part of yesterday green juicing to rid myself of the all the toxins I've consumed in the last week. Hello Spring Break. You only live once...so they say.
So, today, I am beckoning on a new week with Springy whites and a statement jacket under $50! I love the bold tribal pattern and colors. It's the perfect layering piece for cool nights. I sized up so I could wear bulkier tops underneath. Just a little advice.
Shop this exact outfit below + I linked two more statement jackets, too! Happy Monday!

I haven't been able to bring myself to write three blog posts lately because I've just been so spent. Last week was brutal. The ideal of being creative on demand was not even remotely interesting to me but this week is a new week. Ever have one of those? I suppose I was due.
When I first put this top on, my husband said I looked somewhat like a pirate. Yes, I was totally flattered. And honestly, I kinda get that the sleeves evoke pirate vibes but the more I rotated this top into my wardrobe...the more I love it. I am a sucker for white tops. You can never have enough!
When I think of bodysuits, I think of Cindy Crawford and Pepsi commercials. That's where my brain gravitates immediately. As a child of the 80's...bodysuits were a popular product of this era. Usually high cut and uncomfortable and a pain to get off.
Raise your hand if you're with me!
Do I have back fat? Is that a thing when you get closer to 40? These are questions I've been asking myself lately. But do you wanna know the real answer? The answer is no. No, Johanna...you do not have back fat. What you have is an ill-fitting bra collection and it's time to upgrade.
I like a little drama in life. Not the people kind of drama but I like a little drama when it comes to dressing up. Enter this dress. Can you believe it is $15? Maybe you can but I think the sleeves make it look way more chic than the actual price tag.
Ever have one of those days where you have no idea what to wear and the weather gods are behaving like total misfits? Yep, that was Sunday for me. Today, currently sleeting, hailing and snowing. Oh brother.
It's true that trends are often recycled over time but polka dots for Spring is one I will never tire of. It seems like every website I turn to is laden with polka dot tops, shoes, headbands and bags. This is one trend I never worry about going too overboard with. Polka dots = happiness!
I cannot even begin to describe the last eight days to you. It was equal parts heartbreaking as it was exhausting. Our family got hit bad. As in...got hit by the flu bug and it took every single one of us down. My kids JUST returned to school today. Yep, they missed an entire week of school.
Another day of smiling through the cold. That's how it works in February, right? Whelp, if you're gonna do it, might as well stay stylish.
Consider this week an official week at home. We now have three out of four of us down for the count. My living room looks like an infirmary. I have calls and one meeting scheduled but beyond that you will find me in sweatpants this week. I think my body is still trying to decide if it's gonna give in to this nasty flu virus that has taken residence in our house.
I swear it was 70 degrees recently. And this, my friends, is the perfect outfit to transition into Spring; ideally for work. I bought it at my girlfriend's boutique - Sanems - and she advised that I could wear it with tights in the winter but I haven't been that brave. I do picture textured, black tights with booties though. Definitely going to file that one in the back of my brain.
