I always welcome a break from dresses and skirts. Menswear just feels a little edgier sometimes. And let's face it...it's winter in Chicago. (insert "womp, womp")

I snagged this top at H&M after the holidays - always the best deals right? - on a super steal. H&M always has the best new year's sales if you are ever in need of a basics spree. I take full advantage annually. 

The trousers were also a mega deal from Asos. They have the best work basics and I practically purchase all my trousers from them. For some reason, they fit like a glove; no tailoring required which is such a blessing for this vertically challenged girl.

While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

…and just to prove how extra I can be, I paired this ensemble with a houndstooth tote. A bit much? Perhaps. My coat is on super sale so grab it now! I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern. I will never tire of houndstooth. This is a print for all generations.
