The Waldorf.
I think I had a growth spurt in the last two months. Not the kind where your pants don't fit or your sleeves are too short. A different kinda growth spurt. I had an internal growth spurt. These are always rocky to navigate but when you come out of them, you realize that you are that much better off. I've grown as a person. Again...gosh, when does this stop? It's exhausting!
I was the lucky recipient of a combo pack in the life department. Some particularly interesting work situations mixed with a rebellious toddler made for some interesting mom/wife/entrepreneur melt down moments. I'm not looking for a pity party though. It's really all good. Trust me.

I learned a valuable lesson about myself. I won't succumb to pressure or a particularly long string of what seems like bad luck. It pushed me hard. I have something to prove. In a few words: "I ain't going down like that."
I remember driving home from the city one day and I thought, "Self, no way! You can't just give up. So it's hard right now...you have to push through. You're gonna kill it. Don't give up."
Yep, I was that girl in the car next to you at the red light talking to herself. A pep talk if you will. And it worked. I'm not a quitter and I'll be damned if I let someone else tell me I can't do something or it's not possible. Because it is. Just watch.
So ridiculous, right? Maybe. But ever since that day, and more so than usual, I've been HUSTLIN'. I mean busting my hump day and night like tomorrow is my last day. And it's working.
We had a call with a client yesterday who was lamenting about all the things that weren't going right for him and we told him one thing, "You gotta get out there and go get it. It's not going to come to you. Get after it!"
With that, I leave you with my 2016 motto which, be prepared, you're gonna hear over and over again: "The dream is here, but the hustle is sold separately."
Oh yeah, and isn't this a cute lil holiday get up? Shop my outfit below:
