The Opera.
Every girl should take a night to go on a girlfriend date. Dress up and do something fun. And gosh, make it a regular occurrence!
Last Saturday, I was my friend, Jen's +1 for the opening night of the Lyric Opera in Chicago. We had tickets to the Marriage of Figaro and it was my first time at the Opera. We were both remarking how dressed up Chicago was. It was nice for a change. People are so casual these days.
Of course, I do not own a long, formal dress. You knew that was coming, right? Truly. You just have to believe me. And...I scored this floor length Calvin Klein on sale for 30% off the night before at Lord & Taylor.
...kids in tow, laying on the dressing room floor...you know the drill.
I'm pretty excited about it. I know it's one of those timeless pieces that I will wear over and over again and I'm sure there will be more black tie events in our future. At least I hope, right? What girl doesn't love dressing up a bit?

Hi! Long time no write. I was in a bit of a writing funk while simultaneously managing a heavy workload and well…you know the rest of the story! And while this is clearly not 60 days worth of outfits, I can tell you that these looks ranked the most popular in both affiliate sales and feedback. It only made sense to share!
Boot season is just revving up which means it’s time for you to start thinking about styling options within your very own closet. I shared 25 of my favorite pairs last month but today we are going to talk about the versatility of the infamous lug boot. This does not mean that you should donate your favorite combat boots, Chelsea boots, ankle boots or knee boots. Keep those!
Okay friends, we know Fall is peeking around the corner and while I think it’s safe to say that none of us are ready to discontinue pool days…the reality is that we have no choice! I am officially embracing a new season. And it’s likely due to my kids starting school this week.
You have officially entered Gemini season. We’re a passionate group of individuals and it just so happens that one of my nearest and dearest friends was born the day before me. <I’m the older sister but I digress> And if there is one thing that Geminis embrace, it is change. We get bored very quickly which is a testament to the amazing men we married because they keep us loved and entertained beyond measure!
Spring is a time for new beginnings. And there are so many in comparison to last year’s Spring. While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. Don’t forget to support your local, small businesses so that we can make up for lost times!
A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.
Phew! We are back! It was all things wonderful and after many DMs, I am sharing the looks my family begrudgingly captured. Cue the grunts and groans!
Happy Shopping! xo
…and just to prove how extra I can be, I paired this ensemble with a houndstooth tote. A bit much? Perhaps. My coat is on super sale so grab it now! I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern. I will never tire of houndstooth. This is a print for all generations.
It was a rainy April but I am all about a fashion challenge. Rounding up my favorite looks for events ranging from WFH to Easter to grabbing tacos with the fam. Need additional links? Lemme know and Happy May!
