I've had this dress for 11 years. Yes, you read that correctly. I bought it from Banana Republic for a wedding and I'm so glad I hung onto it all these years.

...proving once again that investment pieces are always a good idea even though they sometimes leave a dent on the old credit card.

I originally fell in love with it for the interesting neckline. Strapless dresses grow a little tiresome on me at times because it seems like all cocktail-wear is strapless. Plus...I don't have to over think jewelry. No necklace needed! Just a pair of great earrings and a cocktail ring.

...and shoes! Always a great pair of shoes. Looks like I'll be pulling out this lil' diddy one more time for an upcoming Fall wedding.

While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern.
