She's still got it... <+ a giveaway!>
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the newly renovated Sears in Oak Brook. This brand has undergone so many different changes so to see the unveiling was exciting as this mass retailer has made a humongous effort to stay current, on trend and approachable. The icing on the proverbial cake was undoubtedly the appearance of Jaclyn Smith and her clothing collection which was formerly only housed at Kmart. Seeing the style maven in person was such a pleasure. More on that later!
As part of this collaboration, I had the opportunity to shop her collection which is tailored to the modern woman on the go. That’s me! So what’d I get? You know I like to share, here are my final edits:
First up, this utility blouse. I paired mine with a faux, patent skirt and booties. And how about that price -- $24.99 and animal print on trend!
Next up, this boucle jacket. For $30 I can wear this jacket three different ways: with a pair of cutoffs, with vegan leather pants and with a pair of distressed denim. I chose to wear mine with vegan, leather pants for a polished work look. The look of Chanel for less. Who doesn’t love that?
Similar to my first choice, you’ll see this leopard houndstooth number quite a bit and as you can see, it pairs perfectly with Jaclyn’s vegan leather pants. Again, $24.99 for 100% black and white chic.
About my interview with Jaclyn Smith. She is about the warmest most polished yet down-to-earth celebrity I’ve met. We could have chatted for hours and her husband is equally adorable and personable. Our conversation ranged from the difference between West Coast fashion vs. East Coast and, of course, kids! I love how proud she is of her collaboration with her daughter and if you’re in the market for baby clothes...look no further than the Spencer Layette line! One final note about Jaclyn, I have to say that her outward appearance is stunning but it’s truly her personality and charisma that shine the brightest. My favorite quote of the interview:
“You don’t have to spend a lot to look like a million bucks.”
I highly encourage you to check out the “new” Sears in your neck of the woods. There might be a new look and feel but the same standards of quality craftsmanship at affordable pricing remain in tact...with that said, happy shopping y’all! Might I add that Christmas has also arrived at Sears if you’re over pumpkin spice lattes!
That’s not all! Feeling lucky? I am awarding one lucky reader a chance to win a $100 giftcard to Sears. Simply leave a comment below and share what your favorite piece is from the Jaclyn Smith Collection to enter. Random winner announced on Monday, 10/15/18 @ 9am CST! <must live in the United States>

It’s time to come out of hibernation. While January has been cold and gray, I’ve uncovered an amazing, suburban exhibition that is worth leaving the house for…and it’s only here through the end of March 2024. You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
