Just one shoulder.

I think we are programmed to wear dressy separates with other dressy separates. I stopped subscribing to that once I had children. I realized I might be dressing up a hair less hence I decided to dress up the ordinary. Why shouldn't you wear what you love...everyday? So that become my mantra and today is no exception. 

I found this top @ Zara in December and I bought it without thinking. I knew I'd find an occasion to wear it. And I did. But I really wanted to wear it more often, not just with leather pants. So...I introduced this metallic one shoulder top to my everyday denim and it has been a match made in heaven ever since. That's what I call a fashion epiphany!

While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

…and just to prove how extra I can be, I paired this ensemble with a houndstooth tote. A bit much? Perhaps. My coat is on super sale so grab it now! I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern. I will never tire of houndstooth. This is a print for all generations.
