A Diary of Our Weekend.
4th of July gets better and better each year. Primarily because we can do more with our kiddos without rushing home for naps. That's a big milestone!
Today I thought I'd share some snaps from the parade. We had gorgeous weather and many-a-treat this past weekend. In fact, I'm trying to explain to Olivia and Lola that treats are for special occasions, not everyday. This hard-hitting truth made for a rather difficult Monday but life's full of lessons, isn't it?
In case you didn't notice, we've hit a stage where taking a family picture is equivalent to seeing the 7 Wonders of the World in one day. As in, it ain't happening!
Lola has become increasingly sheepish around the camera...unless it's a Friday night dance party. Then she really hams it up when no one's looking!
I hope you had a fantastic Independence Day. I know I usually cover style, shopping and beyond but today seemed like the right time to do a lil' family post. I hope you don't mind indulging me!

Wishing you and your families the coziest, happiest of holidays!
Thank you for all the love + support in 2016! xo
If you're looking for something fun to do with the family, I've got you covered! My clan and I recently had the pleasure of taking a trip to Medieval Times Chicago. Three of us had never been but I knew what was in store. Just a short stint from our house, we made a day of our excursion which might I add - completely tuckered out the little ones just in time for bed. Perfect timing for a giant glass of pinot noir come 8:00pm sharp!
Quality time with my kids is somewhat a challenge before the holidays. There's a lot of craziness and running around...and events. We usually average about two weekends of "absolutely nothing" before we turn into spinning tops. Sound familiar?
Well, recently we got to hit the "pause" button and take our kids to the circus for the first time. Honestly, we had forgotten how good it was! Or maybe as adults, we've come to appreciate what a production it is. And our kids...they loved it!
If you know me at all...you know that I am a huge October advocate. Everything about the month is perfect from food to weather to activities to the clothing! This is the last hurrah before Chicago turns into the frozen tundra. I'm not kidding and I hear we are in for a doozy this year.
Good morning ghosts + goblins! I'm making this a short and sweet post for three reasons:
What you see here is not reality. It's a moment in time captured by a very talented photographer. But that's what family pictures are, right?
I've been getting the same question pretty frequently lately. I must be giving off this vibe like I've got it all handled..and I don't. So when people comment:
"I don't know how you do it all."
September came and went in a flash but there were many memorable moments. It also marks my husband's birthday, a new school year and a change in seasons. Truly my favorite time of year, this month was chockfull of memorable moments and events.
I often interview entrepreneurs and industry pioneers on Fridays but today is going to be a bit different. Today I'm sharing some details about me that you may not have known. Is that possible after blogging so darn long? You be the judge!
Keeping it short + sweet today my friends as there are many sales to be had and many Bloody Mary's to be consumed! I'm sharing the top Labor Day Sales to get after and you can do it all from the comfort of your patio, couch or bed...whichever you prefer. Happy Shopping! xo
...because I just need to put this out there. Some moms are excited for their kids to go back to school. I am not. :(
We just measured you and you grew two more inches! No wonder all your clothes are too short. At this rate we may have to get second jobs to keep up with your closet conundrum.
