14 Days of Target Denim

Denim shopping can be just as difficult as swimsuit shopping. At least for me it is. Like most of us, I take denim really seriously as it’s a part of my weekly uniform. 5 out of 7 days a week includes some form of denim and I’m not biased. Skinny, boyfriend, flared or jegging…I love ‘em all.
Let’s face it…Fall is around the corner and this is the perfect opportunity to refresh your wardrobe, purge the old and get a little experimental. Toss all your old notions out the door and get creative with your style. Explore. Take a risk.
That’s what I did with the four pairs of Target denim that I received in the mail. Let’s review shall we?
Starting with a classic skinny jean, I appreciated the give and take this pair had to offer. Say goodbye to those nasty muffin tops and pancake tushies. This pair hugged me in all the right spots and the spandex component helped maintain their shape…even after a 14-hour day. Multi-tasking denim…I’m on board.
Next up, a boyfriend, cropped jean. Consider this style the most forgiving of the four. We’ll call it my “Monday” jean after a weekend of indulging on tacos and wine! It looks just as cute with heels (my preferred look) as it does with a pair of converse sneakers. While this pair doesn’t posses the same spandex qualities, I can assure you it’s not needed. They're slouchy and comfortable with built-in ventilation.
By the way, distressed is still on trend for Fall. Most importantly, juxtapose the looser fit of this pair with a fitted top if you’re worried about feeling too schleppy. It’s all about balance in life, right?
My second favorite pair, a flared jean. I will always be a little hippie at heart. I love the length with the unfinished hem at the ankle. There’s an authenticity to this pair…just a wee bit worn but fitted where it counts – on your bottom. This pair made me feel like I had legs for days which is a bonus when you’re 5’2. I love, love, loved this pair! The wash is perfection and with just a hint of spandex…I wore them all day at a photo shoot and they didn’t sag once. Right even through dinner!
Last but not least, a mid rise jegging jean. Hands down my favorite of all the pairs! I prefer ultra skinny styles because I like to dress up my denim for work. The color is a medium wash. My favorite part by far was the details on the distressing. There is an ever-so-subtle light pink stitching that just makes this pair! I loved this little detail because it served as the perfect accent against my heels.
5 stars all around – this pair keeps their shape and I had no problem with bottom cleavage. You know what I’m talking about ladies, right? That awful moment when your pants sag and you show the world your undies? Not cool; those jeans end up in the donation bin!
Are you convinced that it’s time to ditch that old pair from 2000 that you’re hoping to get back into? Good because I have an incentive for you to get started…
