Pause with purpose.

This Labor Day Weekend I slept. Normally this would not be a cause for celebration but I don’t think you understand…sleep is a wishlist item for me or at least it has been lately. This weekend I REALLY slept and you don’t really realize how bad you need sleep until you do it and wake up feeling 100% different. Funny how that works.

Blonde that's not so basic.

I’ve been coloring my hair since I was out of the womb…or so it seems. Many many moons ago I had dirty, dishwater blonde hair. My colorist has confirmed but that was then and this is now. While yes, I have had some hair disasters. read: green hair! For the most part we’ve been happy and healthy due to the amazing talent I’ve invested a LOT of money in over the years.

July was a really challenging month that tested my patience in every sense of the word. Every day I woke up to a fire that I needed to put out and I began to wonder if it was me. Literally. Ever have those weeks? Months? Well, for me…it was happening and all I could do was drink a glass of wine or three every night to relax. Definitely not the healthiest decision but hey…we all have our moments.

Freeze the fat!

If you’ve been following me long enough, you know a few facts about me:

  1. I work out quite a bit and it makes me a more sane person.

  2. My time is very limited because family first!

  3. I have IBS and am allergic to gluten and dairy.

  4. I have two beautiful children and I am in my 40’s.

  5. The area of my body that I struggle with the most <both physically and mentally> is my stomach.
