I don't think there is a greater invention than the chambray jogger. I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone that disagrees with this statement. It's the perfect transitional piece for a Chicagoan who is dealing with Mother Nature's volatile temper. I know you feel me Midwesterners...
These Allison Izu joggers are created for the petite frame with several styling options in mind...pushed up (my favorite), full length or above the knee and folded over. And shoe wear...gosh, don't even get me started. So many options depending on your mood.
We actually got a glimpse of summer the other day. It was 82 degrees!
I dressed up my look with gladiator heels and a simple crop top for meetings. I think it would look adorable with a classic blazer or a graphic tee and converse sneaks. I love when a separate has so much versatility. That's my kinda closet staple!
Allison Izu is currently sold at Von Maur department stores.

After our March trip across the pond, I became passionate about some of the new labels I stumbled upon. Conditions Apply was one of them; also carried at Anthropologie. Known for their whimsical prints and strong use of color, it was just the brand my closet needed to take a break from my uniform B&W routine. And while you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I can vow that the two pieces I now own will become permanent fixtures in my closet.
Fashion should be fun. I’ve been so uninspired lately. I have to tell you. Casual items - my wish list is long. Dressier options - not so much.
Birthdays are always a time for reflection aren’t they? This year, no milestone, just another trip around the sun. It’s been anything but boring though. I can assure you of that. Eminent growth, many rewarding wins and only a few tough moments. Nothing to complain about, right? Exactly!
How was your Mother’s Day? Admittedly, mine was perfect and I am not saying that in a braggadocios manner at all. I asked for two things this year: an excellent, champagne-filled brunch and a nice, long nap. I got both so color this momma happy.
Last week I posted 21 facts about me that my Insta fam may or may not have known. Original post found here. Needless to say, I was really surprised at the responses. All loving, incredibly sweet and relatable which got me thinking… “How did I get here? How did I find my inner confidence to put myself out here?”
They say the key to having it all is knowing that you already do. I’ve come to realize that’s true. I’ll give you a recent example.
Since we are at the “in-between” stage, I’m gravitating towards ethereal dresses and smart layering. This dress was a complete style steal. I cannot wait to wear it all summer long with a pair of neutral sandals…glass of rosé in hand, natch. It just floats behind you and there is a drop waist in the back under your bum which is all sorts of magic. I really love it. Just need a spray tan and we’re good to go!
Sunday was so busy. I was cursing myself @ 7:30am but felt completely fulfilled by 5pm which is when Lola and I returned home. Talk about a full day! And while I typically prefer a lounge-y kinda Sunday; I cannot lie…we had a great mother/daughter day. Olivia had a Dad Day in the city with her uncle which was filled with arcade games, burgers and hanging out with my brother’s cats. That’s living her best life if you don’t know my Olivia.
It’s funny how travel affects your wardrobe choices. Less is more. Simple neutrals meant for mixing and matching. Sound familiar? Well, that’s how I pack my suitcase when I know a lot of walking is in store and comfort is paramount.
So, yeah…I’m in Europe with my family. Surprise, surprise. I think they call this Spring Break. I call it heaven x 1M. Inspiration abound and more color than you could ever dream up. Notting Hill was just as romantic as the movies and then some.
