There’s no denying it. I’ve done some really cool things this summer. From pop up parties to staycations to New York to brunches, lunches and more. It’s be a great season of many firsts and a whole lotta fun!
The performing arts are such an important part of my youth and our family culture. Too often they are ignored but slowly, we can all use social media to bring attention to the amazing talent in and around Chicagoland. Everywhere, really. If you feel the same and this is a priority for your kids, then I’d love for you to join me this Sunday, 6/9/18 at Drury Lane Theater for a special run of “Matilda.” You’ve all seen the movie…now we have the theater production and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s a dark story with a true happy ending.
Popping on here to give a shout out to all my Chicagoland readers - I see you, hello! I’ve shared this quite a bit on social but not yet the blog so here we are! And another weekend presents itself which is not too shabby!
Sunday was so busy. I was cursing myself @ 7:30am but felt completely fulfilled by 5pm which is when Lola and I returned home. Talk about a full day! And while I typically prefer a lounge-y kinda Sunday; I cannot lie…we had a great mother/daughter day. Olivia had a Dad Day in the city with her uncle which was filled with arcade games, burgers and hanging out with my brother’s cats. That’s living her best life if you don’t know my Olivia.
Outside of my agency work at Oak Street Social, I truly love supporting local businesses. I get it and I know how hard it is to get loyal support on an ongoing basis. So much so that I partnered with Salt because I love what they stand for. You probably read Leanne + Tami’s SelfMade Speed Rounds recently, too.
Every year I look forward to a somewhat unorthodox breast cancer event. It’s not a race. It’s not a walk. It’s not a shopping event. It’s a giant party or gala, rather, called Tickled Pink. Tickled Pink is in partnership with Bright Pink, which is a 401c3 that helps build awareness and early detection for breast cancer. Not only does this organization support the survivors but it also provides support and education for those afflicted with this nasty disease in the early stages.
In case you don’t live in the Midwest, it is f-f-f-f-freezing here. Dressing cute is still a priority but warmth is everything and while I never thought I would be a pullover girl, I can tell you I have officially converted this week! And the best news of all is that the one I am wearing is a mere $20! You cannot beat that!
I am pretty sure I’ve discovered family gold when it comes to weekend activities. You can thank me later. I first started sharing about CMX Cinemas on my IG and my DMs blew up so I wanted to share in a full blog post as well.
Visiting this luxurious movie theater parents might just award you Mom of the Year OR Wife of the Year so listen up because “going to the movies” just got a whole lot cooler.
I just love the magic of the final two months of the year. The uplifted moods, the music, the twinkle and the excuse to majorly blow off any diet I may have been on. You only live once, right?
Well, I have the great fortune with this blogging hobby to get first glimpses at some of the most unique venues, experiences and events and I kinda feel like it’s my job to share the good cheer so you can enjoy them with your favorite gal pals or family, too. Whatdyasay?
