Family night at Medieval Times. <5 reasons why you should do it!>
This is my third visit to Medieval Times and I will tell you why I keep coming back for more…it’s good ol’ fashioned fun. The first time I visited I was in college. The second I took my little family and the third time we took our best friends. The entire clan.
Here’s what you need to know about going and why you should take your family:
It gets you out of the house in the winter: last weekend was a blizzard and we missed it by a hair. I truly can’t imagine spending the whole weekend indoors so why not be entertained? It’s great for all ages.
Your kids can be loud and no one cares: they can hoot and holler and are, in fact, encouraged to do so. Where else can you do that?
You get to eat with your hands and that’s cool: roasted chicken and potatoes - YUM! Look ma, no forks! Your kids will think you’re extra rad for breaking the rules plus, have you ever eaten dragon eggs?
They serve alcohol: I don’t think there is anything to discuss here.
You are entertained for a full two hours: think jousting, games, horse prancing…the works! Well worth the ticket price.
Bringing our best friends seemed like a great way for the kids to bond and introduce the event to their favorites without having to sit quiet for hours. That’s hard for kiddos and the best part? The parents can have a conversation which is worth it’s weight in gold!
Book your ticket by clicking below. There are typically three show times on the weekends and plenty of picture opportunities, bars and trinkets to be had. We give it the ol’ Grange Double Thumbs Up. Enjoy! xoxo

It’s time to come out of hibernation. While January has been cold and gray, I’ve uncovered an amazing, suburban exhibition that is worth leaving the house for…and it’s only here through the end of March 2024. You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
