Awesome Arizona!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I just returned from a weekend getaway in Scottsdale with my husband. One part family wedding and the other part QT with my husband. It was nothing short of an amazing weekend filled with laughter, my extended family whom I haven't seen in 19 years, many glasses of wine, poolside lounging and hey…!….I finished a book. Does it get any better?

Today I'm sharing my recommendations for a four-day getaway in the eclectic town of Scottsdale starting with the most colorful boutique hotel you've ever laid eyes on...

The Saguaro

The Saguaro is a feast for the eyes. If you're a color lover like me or a blogger or both, this hotel is absolute eye candy. Every wall is a different color so you'll have no shortage of pictures. Thanks to my husband, I was able to capture quite a bit which was rewarded with several Tecates by the pool. The pool alone is reason enough to visit. If you're craving a party scene with good noshing and fabulous cocktails -- this is the hotel for you. They have a sister location in Palm Springs which is just as fabulous. Think more palm trees than cacti but you won't be sad either way!

Farm + Craft

My husband and I meandered over to Farm + Craft in the new part of Scottsdale on Friday for lunch. It's almost as if someone plucked up this Santa Monica vibin' restaurant and plucked it right down into the middle of the desert. From homemade pressed juices to gluten free pizzas and novelty cocktails…you'll leave satisfied and guilt free because all the food is farm fresh and 100% good for you. Bonus: they allow pooches on the patio which makes for a fun way to kill time before your food arrives.

House Brasserie + Elements at the Sanctuary

Pictured above is House Brasserie. This was my favorite dinner. Dine on the patio which feels like something out of Napa Valley. Perfect evening temps allowed us to dine alfresco and indulge in a well curated wine menu and delicious entrees with the best customer service we had all weekend. I would have hired our waitress if I could have. My husband and I were barely audible once our food arrived. It was that good!

Elements at the Sanctuary Resort was positively gorgeous and our first night's dinner. Nestled on a mountain you can watch the pinky-orange sunsets while you sip a pre-dinner cocktail and view the city below. It's stunning. Their menu is equally captivating with another magnificent wine selection and sophisticated dishes to match. My husband ordered the duck and raved about it. Of note, our sashimi appetizer knocked my socks off.

Morning Squeeze + Alo Cafe

Mornings are of uber importance for my husband because breakfast is a big deal to him. So much so that it was the first question he uttered to me every.morning. My favorite destination was our Saturday choice called Morning Squeeze. Pictured above is their acai bowl which blew my mind. If I could find this in Chicago I would have it delivered to my house everyday. The dishes took a bit of time to arrive but the first bites more than made up for it. My husband had the breakfast tacos - no disappointment there, either. It's cute, it's kitschy and it's another patio scene. What's not to like?

The first morning we walked to Alo Cafe in Old Scottsdale. Equally charming and tasty. I ordered every beverage possible to rehydrate and a simple fruit bowl. Hungover much? Jack ordered a brie omelet with breakfast potatoes and a curry ketchup. I honestly thought he wanted to marry the owner it was so good. Rendered speechless, once again. Highly recommend this cutie, breakfast spot.

Our final night was spent at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club. Stunning mountain views and twinkly lights made for a memorable wedding celebration. You can also stay at this resort, which my parents did, not too long ago. The real purpose of our trip was to celebrate family which made this the perfect ending to our weekend getaway.

Seems like a whirlwind but I assure you it was time well spent with lingering meals and lively conversation on all fronts. We can't wait to go back. Happy Monday! xo
