The leather shift dress.
It seems I’ve been hanging onto some content and it’s time to share. With the craze of the holidays matched with the craze of this week, I’m ready to get back into the creative groove!
So…this dress. I saw it on my friend Ali and I knew I had to have it. Believe it or not, it’s from Zara. It’s chic, it’s faux, it’s comfortable and it’s affordable. My four favorite qualities in on-trend pieces. The versatility is a plus, too. I’ve worn this to business meetings as much as I’ve work it to GNO events.
Now, to be truthful…I haven’t thought much about care for it because I don’t sweat all that much but I imagine I will need to take it to the dry cleaners and have them farm it out somewhere. Not totally sure.
All in - it’s a fun piece for under $100. It would look adorable with a hoodie, a chic scarf tied around the neck or even OTK boots. And it’s black so all color is welcome!
Hope your New Year is extra stylish and extra awesome! Thanks for following…you can shop all items in the links below!
Fashion should be fun. I’ve been so uninspired lately. I have to tell you. Casual items - my wish list is long. Dressier options - not so much.
Birthdays are always a time for reflection aren’t they? This year, no milestone, just another trip around the sun. It’s been anything but boring though. I can assure you of that. Eminent growth, many rewarding wins and only a few tough moments. Nothing to complain about, right? Exactly!
How was your Mother’s Day? Admittedly, mine was perfect and I am not saying that in a braggadocios manner at all. I asked for two things this year: an excellent, champagne-filled brunch and a nice, long nap. I got both so color this momma happy.
Last week I posted 21 facts about me that my Insta fam may or may not have known. Original post found here. Needless to say, I was really surprised at the responses. All loving, incredibly sweet and relatable which got me thinking… “How did I get here? How did I find my inner confidence to put myself out here?”
They say the key to having it all is knowing that you already do. I’ve come to realize that’s true. I’ll give you a recent example.
Since we are at the “in-between” stage, I’m gravitating towards ethereal dresses and smart layering. This dress was a complete style steal. I cannot wait to wear it all summer long with a pair of neutral sandals…glass of rosé in hand, natch. It just floats behind you and there is a drop waist in the back under your bum which is all sorts of magic. I really love it. Just need a spray tan and we’re good to go!
Sunday was so busy. I was cursing myself @ 7:30am but felt completely fulfilled by 5pm which is when Lola and I returned home. Talk about a full day! And while I typically prefer a lounge-y kinda Sunday; I cannot lie…we had a great mother/daughter day. Olivia had a Dad Day in the city with her uncle which was filled with arcade games, burgers and hanging out with my brother’s cats. That’s living her best life if you don’t know my Olivia.
It’s funny how travel affects your wardrobe choices. Less is more. Simple neutrals meant for mixing and matching. Sound familiar? Well, that’s how I pack my suitcase when I know a lot of walking is in store and comfort is paramount.
So, yeah…I’m in Europe with my family. Surprise, surprise. I think they call this Spring Break. I call it heaven x 1M. Inspiration abound and more color than you could ever dream up. Notting Hill was just as romantic as the movies and then some.
When people talk about Spring. I shrug. I dunno. Florals + me = no bueno. I’ve never been into ultra fem looks. I mean, I get it…they look lovely on many women, my friends even! Just not on me. I guess I consider myself more of a boot stomper. A ripped denim wearer. No frills. You get what you get.
