I've had this crochet dress for several years and never shot in it. Crazy, I know. Literally the 8th Wonder! I kid. In all honesty, it was relatively inexpensive from the ever-popular ASOS website. I love it for two reasons. I can dress it up as shown above AND I can pair it with a pair of combat boots for a totally different look. Just add a leather jacket!
February is always such a whirlwind. In some aspects, I like that it's a short month because it signifies the end of what usually is a long winter. On the other hand, everything feels rushed. So, today, I am taking a moment to stop and smell the roses sharing my favorite moments from the month. A ton of QT with our little family and some welcome mail surprises. All in all, not a bad month…filled with color, of course. I think that's the Chicagoan in me - always seeking color on the grayest of days!
I've always had the belief that sequins shouldn't be reserved for New Year's only. That seems like a waste of beauty. I believe there is a place for everyday sequins. After all, it has anything and everything to do with your attitude when you wear them. Today's dress is no exception. I can and will find many occasions to wear this lil number. It's even more stunning in person.
Capes definitely give you superhero status. I should know, this T&J Designs version gives me wings! It's also a sure fire way to dress up even the most basic of basics because let's face it...winter weather and a lack of fashion inspiration have officially arrived in Chicago. <cue the eye roll>
The holidays can be so fancy that often, by Friday, I crave denim and a paired down version of my traditional uniform. Sometimes I have so many fancy separates that it's difficult for me to compose a basic outfit. Which is downright silly given that I have a gazillion basics just sitting in my closet! Ahhhh the life of a blogger!
All right. Black Friday is around the corner. It's time to get serious. We all know the struggle. It's hot in the stores, cold outside and you're gonna get pushed around like a fat kid in a donut shop. What do you wear? I'll tell you...this outfit. It's ventilated and the jacket is not required.
PS / you need stretchy denim post turkey time. Let's be honest.
When I think of easy, everyday uniforms...I think of denim and a fitted blazer. Two classics that no woman should be without. On the days I am running like a mad woman, (cough, cough - everyday) I opt for a heel that can take me from day to night. Or, in my case, carpool lines to photo shoots to meetings to happy hour. Might I add that these scalloped beauties definitely fit the bill?
Chicago is experiencing a Fall unlike any other. Perfectly brisk mornings and cool nights. I even heard that we might have some frost in the evening. This is the quintessential Chicago that I know and love. Bring on the leaves!
Today's post is short and sweet on words. I'm sharing my favorite Fall jewelry pieces. There's one trend I'm noticing big time for the new season...textured jewelry. Think stonework, gold, hammered metals, wire and more.
Long gone are the days of boring suits. I much rather prefer to punch it up with vibrant shoes and accessories. Such is the case with today's look. It's my one and only Spring suit. If there's ever a time to break it out...it's now! Today I went for a nautical look because...well, because why not?
