Starting holiday traditions is one of the things we most look forward to and everything kicks off in November. Although it makes for very busy weekends...they bring the most smiles.

Every year we head downtown for the Annual Light Festival which takes place on the Magnificent Mile...better known as Michigan Avenue. Although it's Chicago's most iconic street, there's absolutely nothing like it during the holidays. Ever since the girls we born we would dress them up and choose our spot on the street to welcome Mickey and Friends as they point to each building and one by one light up the avenue. It's nothing short of magical.

This year our good friends invited us to a slightly different viewing party. We stayed toasty amidst the crowd at the BMO Harris Party where the girls sipped hot cocoa and got their faces painted. Bunnies, caricatures, Disney characters and a bird's eye view indoors made for a super festive kickoff to the holiday season.

I dressed my girls in these adorable dresses from Pippa and Julie -- bar none my favorite kiddo website for fashion. Are they not to die for? They remind me of little nutcrackers. When I shopped them I knew the exact day we would be wearing them...cause I'm a bit maniacal like that. Ha...welcome to motherhood.
