Beauty 411: My top 5 favorite red lipsticks.
I'm one picky girl when it comes to red lipstick. I've tried dozens and there are two criteria a good red lipstick must meet: staying power + matte. Perfect skin wouldn't hurt either which is why I'm currently using a Dermablend foundation to even out my complexion. Today I'm hoping to save you a bit of cash and share my top red lipsticks in my arsenal.
It should be noted that NYX is still my favorite but all five are swoon-worthy from vampy red to the perfect cherry red depending on the occasion. See below for the exact color and shopping link. I'd love to hear your favorites, too!
Happy shopping! xo

Quickie post today as I spent the weekend literally spending all my money on May holidays and birthdays. May is pure insanity for us every year. It’s the fastest month that usually leaves me feel like I have whiplash come June 1.
I don't fall for beauty trends all that often. Perhaps it's my age but I know what I like. Fashion trends...yes, guilty as charged. Typically you will find me in a neutral lip or a bold lip. No in between but always matte. Lipgloss? Not so much, I kind of exhausted that in my late 20's but a strong lip...always!
What's new pussy cat? So MUCH! May is by far the busiest month for me personally and professionally. You could say I am savoring the quiet of April 30th because I know all hell is about to break loose. With that said, you know I am nothing if I am not a multitasking momma on the go which is why I want to introduce to you the newest lifesaver to my beauty collection. Meet Beauty by POPSUGAR!
Okay, real talk. I never get to a spa. And that is not a complaint. I'm of the mindset that if I cannot relax at all - why spend the money? Heck, I can barely get through a no-chip manicure without tapping my toes and telling my manicurist to skip the hand massage complete with warm towel aromatherapy. Yeah, I'm that girl.
I haven't converted entirely but I am damn near close. I recently fell in love with nude lips. Matte, of course, so I thought I'd spill the beans and share my recent favorites. Tried and tested by not only myself but my girls, too. Yes, I have cultivated a team of beauty addicts back at the homestead! The oooooh's and ahhhhh's are quite cute.
It has been ages since I've written a Beauty 411. The truth is...I receive a shit load of beauty products (of which I am very grateful for) and it takes awhile for me to review, test, sniff and trial each product several times. Many do not make the cut and it has nothing to do with price tags. I assure you.
Micro-needling. I tell people I've had it done recently and their facial expressions morph into one of fear. It's pretty accurate because that's how I felt, too. Two thoughts entered my brain: needles + face = no bueno.
I've always had a good skincare routine. Cleanse in my morning shower followed up by a toner, moisturizer and eye cream. Standard but I felt it was better than the alternative and I very rarely went to bed with makeup on. The same routine ensued in the evenings with a weekly addition being a gommage or facial scrub to slough off dead cells.
When it comes to my stocking, I thoroughly appreciate a good beauty haul. I don't get to Sephora often but when I do, it feels like birds are circling my head and an angel choir cues up. It's my personal heaven complete with scents, colors, smart packaging, handy tools and more. In a sentence: I get lost. Hand me a cup of coffee and we're really talking!
Do blondes really have more fun?
Maintaining this ashe-y blonde hue is an absolutely commitment. If you’re going to pursue this shade of blonde, you have to know what you’re signing up for. It’s been several years and lotsa dollars for me but I absolutely love it.
