Spring shoe makeover
Each season I assess my shoe wardrobe and weed out the ones that don't fit my lifestyle anymore.
Maybe that heel was just a little too high and I convinced myself it would work. Nope!
Maybe I'll learn to love that platform shoe. Nope!
Maybe I'll wear flats more. Nope!
Wedge sandals are coming back, right? Nope!
The list goes on. It's a healthy purge process and the actual "purging" has decreased over the years. I think I'm finally at an age where I know what looks good on me, what's stylish but not too trendy and where I will get the most ROI.
I curated a very big pointy shoe collection and then the world shifted to the round toe. Then to sneakers. Then to flats. It's all very confusing. Now, I buy one or two of each and call it a day. I even rock a kitten heel once in awhile. Ya know...weekends with the kids.
Well, today I'm sharing my top five shoes that every girl should not only own but invest in for 'SS15. Not only are they on trend but they are classic and oh-so-versatile!
one | the nude bootie: Mine are from H&M and I had to wait until my size came back in! The horror! Sure, I could spend more but these fit the bill. Midwest winters are harsh hence I spent some money but didn't break the bank because I knew they would get beat up over time.
two | the classic, black pointy pump: I've owned a plethora of pairs but my most recent budget buy were also from H&M. I love the sole. They look more expensive than they actually are.
three | the nude pump: I adore these Zara Basic heels. They are actually a pale pale pink but they work as a neutral. I wear them constantly and they make me feel like I am 100 feet tall. No easy feet for a 5'2 girl.
four | the nude mule: Ok, bear with me. Mules are back hardcore and I was VERY resistant but there is something decidedly feminine about these. They look uber chic with a wide, leg trouser as they do with boyfriend jeans or a dress. I am totally jumping on the band wagon here.
five | the leopard loafer: A conformed loafer-wearer I am. I wear these to zip around on the weekends. They look great with brights...think fuchsia and canary yellow! And a uniform staple with any denim you own. Particularly fantastic with nautical stripes might I add.
That's my spring shoe report. What's on your list? I still am on the fence as to whether I need a floral pump in my life because it's not quite as versatile but perhaps my mind can be swayed...tune in next time.
