Sofitel...Mother's Day style.
It's almost here. That one day a year where us mothers get the luxury of a blissful manicure/pedicure all to ourselves...1.5 hours of heaven. Sound right? That's my usual gift which I happily accept each year because it just never gets old. 1.5 hours of no one asking for a snack, help in the potty or asking for a change of clothes because they spilled bubbles on the 4th outfit of the day. Not that I'm complaining...
This year was slightly different in the best way possible as we were invited to preview the Mother's Day Brunch at Café des Architectes. It was scrumptious...every last crumb of it!
In addition to a delicious french brunch, Sofitel is offering a family portrait in honor of mum. Sunday, May 8 from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, overnight guests of Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and Mother’s Day Brunch patrons from Café des Architectes can pose for a complimentary professional family photo. To redeem their photo session, guests show their complimentary certificates which are given at time of arrival for their brunch reservation or at check-in to the hotel.
And now, let's talk food! This year, Chef Biggers is featuring a prix fixe menu highlighting traditional favorites with a French twist such as Spiced Carrot Veloute, Lake Superior Whitefish with Mushroom Ragout and Crème Fraiche Panna Cotta. Prix Fixe menu only will be available from 11:30 am to 10:30 pm. A delicious kid’s prix fixe menu will also be available for $19.
My kids dined on M&M waffles and a gorgeous granola/yogurt parfait while I designed my own omelet and my husband feasted on a delectable charcuterie plate as pictured above. It was just the right amount of food without leaving us utterly uncomfortable. Let it also be known that the staff knows how to cater to their little guests, too. They were more than accomodating ranging from crayons to fresh pastries at the drop of a hat.
It was a great morning; sort of like Mother's Day x 2! I highly recommend the Sofitel brunch and be sure to grab a table on the patio because this weather is divine. Happy brunching! xo

You must get tickets to the Downton Abbey Exhibition located at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie. It’s open weekly from Wednesday-Sunday.
