Quarantine Treat: Whipped Coffee

If nothing else, Covid-19 has made me somewhat of a renaissance woman. I’ve learned so many new things to include but not limited to: baking my own bread, a variety of recipes, DIY manicures and more! I think that is the one benefit from all of this home time - tackling projects you put off and learning new hobbies!

A clear mug of whipped coffee.

As seen all over social media, whipped coffee has been all the rage during quarantine. This popular drink tastes even better than it looks. To make your own, follow these simple steps below.

Be warned, one cup packages the punch of 2-3 regularly brewed coffees for me. I felt almost jittery after two cups BUT it is absolutely delicious and feels like a special coffee house treat on those dark, gloomy days.

What you’ll need (makes 1 serving):

  • 2 tablespoons hot water

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder

  • milk, to serve <I use oat milk because we are a non-dairy family>

  • ice, to serve

Steps:

  1. Add hot water, sugar, and instant coffee to a bowl.

  2. Whisk or mix until the mixture is fluffy and light. Think about three minutes or so.

  3. To serve, scoop several dollops over a cup of milk with ice and stir.

  4. Enjoy!
