So, yeah…I’m in Europe with my family. Surprise, surprise. I think they call this Spring Break. I call it heaven x 1M. Inspiration abound and more color than you could ever dream up. Notting Hill was just as romantic as the movies and then some.

While I don’t normally drop a lot of colorful backgrounds into my photos…when in Rome! I packed entirely black and white so that I could layer it up easily. The weather has been in the upper 50’s but it gets cool at night so outfit reinvention is the key to mastering fashion out here.

Patent leggings have long been on my list and bonus: they block wind. Black anything is a staple when it comes to bottoms so I was happy to add these to my closet. Simply add a graphic tee and a structured blazer and you are out the door. Oh! And forget the heels…sneakers are the soup du jour out here which makes sight seeing the best! My feet haven’t hurt once and we have walked on average…six miles daily. And yes, the girls are with us and they have completed every step with us. They are the ultimate travelers.

Spring is a time for new beginnings. And there are so many in comparison to last year’s Spring. While much of the world continues to be on the mend from such a tumultuous year, I continue to feel optimistic that better times are ahead. A year later…happier dresses, happier times. We’re seeing more vaccinations, less mask mandates, more in-person get-togethers and overall, a heck of a lot more joy. This Spring is so very different then Spring 2020 and I am grateful for that.

I’ve been wanting one for years and this oversized version fit the bill. It’s all about the details. The ruched sleeves, the oversized lapel and the large-scale pattern.
