Welcome to my newly rebranded entrepreneurial series. You may remember Fearless Friday from the past but this is the 2018 reimagined version. I brought it back for many reasons but the primary reason was because of YOU. You guys loved this series! I took a break because I recall it being a lot of work to conduct interviews and beyond. So, instead, I took my own advice and worked smarter, not harder.

Starting today, we are going to do a little entrepreneur speed dating in the form of 30 questions. Every Friday. Think badass babes and gents in my own backyard but beyond, too! I hope you enjoy!

1. What’s the name of your business?

84Rockwell and I was also the owner/publisher of Sophisticated Living Magazine. Which I just sold this last month.

2. Two sentences or less…what is the goal of your business?

84Rockwell will be getting a big makeover/relaunch in the next few months. I’ve teamed up with an amazing team and it’s an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I can’t say much, but my goal is to enjoy it and have fun with this new team.

SL - my goal is to keep creating insanely beautiful content and imagery. To push the envelope and keep people talking (and guessing)…

3. How long have you had your business?

84R – 4 years

SL – 2 years

4. What is the hardest part about getting started?

I think the back end – the behind the scenes. It’s everything that no one else sees. Quickbooks, accounting, legal…Just making sure everything that no one sees is ready to rock when you go public.

5. What’s the biggest triumph you’ve experienced thus far?

84R – I’m honestly not there yet…but, it’s very close and I can’t wait.

SL – taking a little unknown magazine and having Chicago talk about it and notice it. There is lots of buzz around SL…I’m happy to be part of it.

6. What’s for breakfast?

Venti non fat, no foam latte, Greek yogurt, berries and honey

7. Kids?

Daley 11, Gabby 10 and Fitz 7

8. Workout? What do you love to do?

5 days a week. Boxing, running and weights. Boxing is my favorite. Running outside has become a great release.

9. Favorite snack?

I love hummus and avocado.

10. Favorite guilty pleasure?

It’s too guilty ;-)

11. Best vacation you’ve ever taken and why?

It’s not exotic. 10 days in Colorado driving through the mountains with my kids. They loved it, which makes me love it. Ended up in my favorite place in the U.S. – Aspen. If I could move to Aspen – I would.

12. One must have item in your purse?

Burts Bees lipgloss

13. Go-to everyday uniform?

Jeans, Saint Laurent blazer, white T, Jennifer Fisher jewelry

14. Favorite Luxury beauty product?

Juveel Vitamin C serum

15. Favorite drugstore beauty steal?

Loreal Voluminous mascara.

16. Milk or dark chocolate?

Milk

17. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I was one one of those kids that had no clue. I think even my parents would say they had no idea. I was always open to everything, but knew I can do anything.

18. What’s your party trick?

I actually just like to make sure people are always having a good time. So, if I see someone at a party and they don’t know anyone, I’m usually the first person to go up to them. It’s not a party trick, but I always like to see people having a good time.

19. Name one destination on your bucket list?

New Zealand.

24. What’s next for your business?

84Rockwell will relaunch. So, I’m not at liberty to discuss ;-)

SL – My good friend, Alison Victoria, took over and there is everything in the works. From cover parties to a new digital platform. I’ll stay on as Creative Director and make sure we are finding killer content and direct some amazing photo shoots.

25. Pets?

Two puppy golden doodles. Ozzy and Hayes.

26. Favorite neighborhood in Chicago?

I live in the Gold Coast, which is beautiful and classic. But, I really love Bridgeport and everything they have going on…Definitely much to come from the South Side. Follow the artists.

People who don’t own their shit.

And, it just so happens that today's Fearless Friday feature, Janet, makes me laugh constantly. I've traveled with her, soon again, I've cocktailed with her, I've had long talks with her...shoot, the only thing we haven't done is work out but we've even talked about that, too! I will tell you, Janet cares and she is very much supportive of her girls. I've observed over the years. Even with everything she is balancing...motherhood, marriage, career, blogging, philanthropy ...she always makes time for her friends. And, she will always make you laugh. That is the best trait in a friend - better than 100 lattes or 1M pairs of Gucci heels. And well heeled, she is!
