Our holiday tradition.

Ever since the girls came into the picture, new traditions sprung into place. People always tell you to begin your own traditions, but truthfully, it's really hard if you have two families to cater to during the holiday season.

One tradition we began when Olivia was born was to attend the annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. It really came about when Olivia became obsessed with Mickey Mouse. Both he and Minnie Mouse kick off the event and flip the switch on all the lights lining Michigan Avenue. It's pretty magical even as a 35 year old.

This year we got a hotel room and brought down both girls to see the windows and meet Santa. It was a day of getting into the "spirit" of Christmas. It's always fun to see the city decked out.

We almost had it. This was last year's pic. Epic.

Magical Oak Street. My favorite street in all of Chicago.

Despite cold temps, and I mean 27 as a high for the day, it was one of my best days in all of 2013. The girls were in awe and we had a fantastic, cozy dinner here complete with Pomme Frites and Croque Monsieur's. We dine at this restaurant after every parade. I suppose that's a tradition in and of itself.

What's your holiday tradition?

In other news, Olivia seems to be a smidge better. We're still working to regulate her temperature and get her some sleep with all the coughing. Thank you so much for all your kind notes. It means so much. I am one worn out, worried mama. xo
