First class beauty products

As with every Spring, I've been throwing away the old and decluttering. I searched my makeup drawers for expired products that smelled funny or basically suck. Any unflattering color cosmetics are given away to friends who might use that tube of lipstick a heck of a lot more than I. I try not to waste.

This Spring I did purge quite a bit, clothes too, but that meant that I also needed to restock the shelves. My goal is to only buy what I need when it comes to beauty EXCEPT when it comes to lip products because that's just a non-negotiable. Anyway, I wanted to share some products that are new to me AND products that I instantly fell in love with.

Olay Fresh Effects Satin Finish Lotion

I always need a less intense; serum based facial moisturizer for warm weather and this baby delivers. My skin literally feels satin-y smooth all day versus greasy and heavy. The scent is mild and I've been going through bottles like hot cakes. I don't think you need to spend a fortune to get a facial moisturizer that keeps its promise.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo

At just $5 a pop I can afford to test many colors but I started with two purchased at Ulta. Both colors were ultra flattering and moisturizing. I only wear matte lip products unless it's a glossy gloss. I find them to be more current and these dry perfectly matte and stay put all day. I do recommend throwing a lipliner underneath to prevent bleeding.

Acure Superfruit Eye Cream

Again, non greasy and absorbs ultra quick. I purchase mine at Whole Foods. I'm getting a lot of fine lines and I feel like applying this product literally fills in the gaps. I was never addicted to eye cream before but now I am!

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry

It's not what you think. I wouldn't even guess cherry as the scent because it's that faint. I will tell you this...this is hands down the BEST dry shampoo I've ever tried. I am forcing myself to only shampoo every other day because I've read so much on the subject and this gets me through the day. My hair is manageable like I just got a blow out. No joke. Both this blogger and this blogger inspired me and it's paying off. Get it at Ulta.

Shea Moisture Retention Shampoo

If you're going to shampoo less, you've got to find a shampoo that really holds in the moisture of your natural oils without stripping your hair of harsh detergents like most of the ones on the market. I'm a little late to the game but this shampoo has changed my life. I cannot describe to you how soft it makes my hair. It's fantastic and the scent is heavenly.
